  • I got a thought for the permadeath. What ever Hobo A had could stay where s/he died. The player would then assume the control of another Hobo elsewhere in the city. This Hobo B could have a shot for A's stuff within a time before police/competitors/etc clean them away. This would be indicated with a timer for example. Food for thought!

  • Regarding graphics.. You could look into graphics created with vectors - or just in a similar style. More or less simple shapes and clear colors. Using a more "real" background could work better against that visual style. Just a thought that came to me!

  • Challenge of an indie monthly income varies a loooooot. But that will even out eventually if one continues to work.

    Don't worry about originality in the beginning. Most important is to learn how this and that works. I look forward to seeing your next production

  • The view in that gif looks good at least. The no copying thing is pretty much a result of modern stronger systems that allow variety so this is a nice peek to past when things were a bit different By the way, Will you be waiting with the next playable release until the game is complete or will you be releasing other demos in between?

    I'd say this is a matter of philosophy. I'd strongly encourage to move on to completely something else so that you can begin fresh. That removes "mistakes" from the background of your previous game. You need to think again the things you learned in the previous game. Starting anew also forces you to reactivate some of that creative mind that you don't use while you are in the coding part of game design.

    There is also the approach of further building the previous game. I've experienced that it is not as educational as my suggestion above though.

    So I suggest moving on to something new and different. Something that forces you to learn a new aspect of Construct.
