There are several options:
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
This isn't normally done by the VectorX, usually it's done by keypresses instead:
+ On left pressed
-> Set mirrored
+ On right pressed
-> Set not mirrored
A good starting point for a particle effect is just creating lots of sprites with the Bullet movement. That's all the Particles object (when it comes) does under the hood.

jos101, I think you misunderstand the problem, it's about updating games on the Scirra Arcade. No tools are going to help you with that, Tom is working on a change to the Arcade form to edit a game, that's all that can be done.
It doesn't matter whether you use a folder-based project or .capx file. You just need to export the game.zip file to upload to the arcade. See uploading to the Scirra Arcade.
kiyoshi - some of your points are covered by third party plugins, and for importing JS/using scripting you could try the SDK. I guess it's a fair list though. Hopefully the second list will be a lot shorter in a few months.
You could also just drag and drop them one by one to make separate sprites rather than one sprite with 25 frames.
You can make animated banners in Construct 2 and put them on a website, but Construct 2 doesn't work with Flash or SWFs at all. You can't import or export SWF with Construct 2.
I haven't used Game Maker too much (and am probably too biased to give a good answer), but I've spotted a few GM users who've come over to C2 recently so perhaps they can fill you in.
This has been reported a lot and seems to be specific to Chrome, is that the browser you're using?
We think it's a problem in the browser and we're hoping Google fix it soon.
