This should be fixed in r99 now.

Does this still happen in r99?

p.s. do you mind changing your avatar? It makes you look like a member of Scirra staff, but you're not.

OK, I'll take a look for the next build again. But just so you know, I only ever set out to fix the projects you give me. So to prevent this step-by-step process, make sure you're submitting the final .capx of what you want to achieve, otherwise I won't be fixing what you ultimately need.

Antylope - can you tell us a bit more about what happened? It would be good if we could still come up with a way to avoid this, or at least make a nicer error message, if this type of problem is common.

We aim to release beta releases every week, and stable updates every 6 weeks. So hopefully a broken beta will be replaced by a stable or new beta release after not too long.

nothing1969 - I already spotted that tiled background problem and reported it to ludei - hopefully they fix it soon.

We are planning to eventually add our own hi-score system to the Scirra Arcade, so I'm afraid we don't want to support the custom hi-scores use case on the Arcade before then.

kiyoshi - mobile devices have much weaker hardware in the first place. Some devices will only get a hundred or so sprites on-screen even with a native engine.

If you just want to quickly test your game, why not just preview it or use preview on LAN?

If you really didn't modify any images, disabling PNG recompression will make the export go much faster, then you can just copy the c2runtime.js and offline.appcache up to the server. However if you make a mistake and you *did* modify some images, this could break your project, which is why it's best to do a complete upload each time.

Looks good! Interesting plugin. A few suggestions:

  • most of your conditions look like they should be triggers instead - take a look at the cf_trigger flag and runtime.trigger()
  • there was some commented out code involving taking a screenshot - if you want to support this, integrate with the existing 'Snapshot canvas' system action. It triggers 'On canvas shapshot' which then saves a data URL in the CanvasSnapshot system expression. It's done this way because toDataURL only works in a particular place in the source, which is why toDataURL() won't have worked if you tried it from the plugin.
  • the plugin will be broken by minifying on export. Have a look in the SDK docs about Closure Compiler.

Editing the version number lets the old build open it, but if the file format has changed at all it might break it. I sometimes need to change the file format and I only make sure new builds can open old projects, not that old builds can open new projects (it's impossible to predict future changes anyway!). So it will probably work, but not always. I wouldn't recommend it in general - that's why C2 by default stops you doing that.

It looks OK here. Can you illustrate what you mean with screenshots? What you see vs. what you expected.

If you make a big object out of lots of smaller sprites, that should be straightforward.

Just a heads up - directCanvas most likely won't be working until r99 comes out, when we've added some fixes. After that, there needs to be an applab update before Test Local or Test Anywhere will work, which I believe appMobi are working on. However, building an actual iOS app and testing the IPA should be working from r99.

The new build system is looking good though, definitely worth checking out!
