  • Hmm, I wish I was a graphic designer so I could really help you out with more than just opinions =

I feel the thing why you are not satisfied with graphics is what they are. Boxes with thick edges. Plain, one color. The last example you made would be amazing with a background other than plain black. Starry sky? Rolling snow covered hills? I guess you are looking for a visual that seems more alive.

  • Going to Finland for Christmas - the real land of Santa. She's excited. 24th is the big day over here. At noon, Christmas peace is declared. In the old days one was punished harder for their crimes during Christmas season - for breaking the peace. Not sure if this still is the case. Then we watch the Snowman (the cartoon with Walking In The Air). Dad reads us the Nativity from the Bible, we visit the graves and head to Grand Ma's place where the family gathers. Christmas day we usually spend at my Dad's parent's place. The last day of Christmas is the 26th when we are just home and eat what we have left =D.

I'd say we have a very standard Finnish, christian Christmas =)

  • This is a very good looking one! Nice graphics. Even though the character is inspired by Lara, I'd recommend giving her different clothes. It would give the game more independent and unique value

    What is the game about?

  • You are most welcome! Just remember your priorities and keep the main thing the main thing. Things will fall into place with a little bit of thinking Happy drawing!

  • How about combining the first one you had with some swipe controls?

Press the sides to move from left to right. Swipe up for jump and to a direction in air for dash or a double tap on a side. Double swipe up for a double jump. Then there would be no worry of forcing a player to position fingers in an absolute place for control. Phone displays are very different in sizes so positioning button controls in portrait is not always the best way to go.

  • Jayjay I'll keep an eye on the game then

damainman I definitely see the need for a different engine. That game won't shine the way it could on C2.

  • That looks pretty good there! Keep on working I'd probably tune the blue background a bit and the boxes. They are somewhat, voiceless and without character. The idea is there. Is there replay value? Other than beating one's own high score per level?

  • I don't know what screen size you exactly had in mind when planning the controls but playing on my 5,5 screen didn't feel too good. I had to hold the phone in a very unnatural way to be able to play. My thumbs started hurting after 5 minutes. Controls made sense but the stiff/slow movement of the character made the control feel heavy.

Premise and idea of the game is good though =)

  • This game looks so beautiful! Can't wait for the Android version! You did such great job with the art. I really like the organic feel it has. I hope the gameplay feels good too.

  • A beautiful game! This is definitely a game to follow and look forward to. Great graphics, engaging. Do you have a release date in mind?

  • Try Construct 3

  • The palette will differ a bit on different maps with more seturated or desaturated colors. Some maps will have a more evening / daytime / nighttime, etc for different kind of mood and feeling depending on the map, so the colors you are seeing now are the base colors, that will be tweaked a bit depending on map.

Good to hear. I look forward to seeing the final ones. I bet they will look good

  • I understand

You made the ambiance a bit darker, right?

  • Thank's

I hope to post a playable demo within the next week. I just have to figure out how to save on smartphone game data (points of the last game, the maximum score, the level reached, etc...). I am trying using a dictionary and the plugin "local storage".

For the moment I could not understand how to manage the music and sounds.

I know, it is not a difficult thing. But for me it's a great little victory.

Little victories win the war. Start small an eventually you master the big things You releasing all mobile platforms or just Android/iOS?

  • Thanks for a great feedback. Nice to stumbleupon a fellow finn in here...

I also thought that there might be the most potential with Pöpö invaders. I already have a bunch of ideas about the story and gameplay in general...

What comes with Project Korona, it's more like a test for a pseudo 3d with physics.. I'm just pondering if I can use the system with somekind of a game...

Blube could be a kind of a "metroidvania" where the target is to collect stuff, avoid dangers, get new skill to progress on. And of course save the princess bird...

Todellakin! Ei kovin usein satu muita Suomalaisia kohdalle tai sitten ovat vain niin piilossa online aliastensa takana but back to english so others can follow along...

Pöpö has most definitely a great deal of potential. Hmm... But the Korona's case. Bowling taken to the next level? Bouncing from obstacles in order to hit the targets? Regarding Blube.. That could work with some fine tuning. A bit more distance to camera in the beginning. Damage penalty when falling/colliding to fast or from too high maybe? Hitting the ground with speed of 10K would probably kill the poor thing...

I really liked the Popo invader. It would be nice if the enemies were sort of cute creatures and you hit them with...candies [?]. Something like Cute the rope.

Interesting that you hear the word pöpö as cute

  • Hmm... Pöpö Invaders definitely! It looks fun. There is a bunch of cool/nasty/imaginative bacteria related scenarios and stories with "anti-bacteria strike force" that could be attached to that one

Korona, hmmm nah. Not really my cup of tea but someone might like it.

Blube the Dash Bird seems a bit complicated (I just reached almost a speed of 10000!! :O Gotta love free fall ). What would be the point of the game? Oh, and i think the screen starts a bit too close to Blube.
