  • septeven TouchMouse has the same problem here, it allows the entire page to be swiped.

  • Construct 2 uses its own local server for previewing on. The code is almost identical for preview vs. export. So it's hard to imagine anything that could go wrong, apart from I guess maybe quickly checking all your third party plugins work with the minifier.

  • Oops, you're right, it's a bug. Fixed for next build.

  • I can reproduce, but argh, I can't find anything to do about it.

The only ways I can find to fix it also make the entire page swipe-able, which ruins any games using touch control (as you swipe the whole canvas slides up and down). So it seems we're either trapped between either broken form controls or the entire canvas swiping.

Don't know how to fix this for now...

Edit: would a workaround like an action "enable form controls" followed by "disable form controls" be acceptable? If you need text entry on a menu screen you could enable form controls, but then disable them and return to game mode for the game control...

  • It appears to be working correctly. When you zoom the scroll position changes on parallaxed layers which causes the offset.

Collisions between objects on parallaxed layers don't work correctly yet either, which is probably also confusing you. Try adding more objects to the foreground and middleground so it's clearer where you are and you should be able to see what is happening.

  • Yeah, this is what includes are for. Right click -> include event sheet. You can use as many event sheets as you like. The number of event sheets does not affect performance, only the total number of events included to a sheet.

  • Don't you mean 'index.html'? Also, why not just preview inside Construct 2? It's quicker and should work the same.

  • Why have you made a new thread? Please keep everything in the same thread in future otherwise it's confusing to follow what is going on.

If you don't have admin access to the computer I'm afraid I can't help you much, I need to know if the registry change I suggested in the other thread will work.

  • OK, this should be fixed in the next build. Note changing animation frames effectively has to destroy and recreate the physics object with a different shape, similar to "teleporting" objects by 'Set position', so you should use it with care.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Kyatric's original reply explains this issue perfectly. Physics engines do not support "set position" or "set angle". If you do this instead of using the forces and impulses like the Physics Basics tutorial recommends, you force Construct 2 to teleport the object in the physics world, because the physics engine does not support what you just did. So each 'Set Y' to move it 2 pixels up is just teleporting the object in to the other object repeatedly, and the physics engine manages to play along for a bit then loses the plot because it's not designed to be used like that. We cannot fix this, it is a fundamental limitation in physics engines. Instead as the tutorial says you have to make the same movement by forces, torque and impulses, which works properly in the "physics world".

Closing as won't fix. I will separately investigate the animation frames issue reported by Kyatric.

  • Thanks, fixed in next build.

  • Thanks, this should be fixed in the next build.
