do you mean they still take the exact same amount of time to play, but in a different pitch?

I'm pretty handy with sound design, so I think I see what you're getting at.

Yes. exactly that. Like you can speed up a song, without it sounding like the chipmunks, or slow it down without it being so unrecognisable that it becomes pointless.

It was a cool thing you could do on the SB Live card (I'm sure all the newer creative cards and most other sound cards for that matter would be able to do it these days) using some software that did it.

You could also activate the EAX effects and talk in the mic or whatever, and it would mess around with your voice in EAX. It had stuff like kidnapper voice, and male to female convert/female to male convert, alien, and a bunch of other fun ones.

Would be awesome to be able to do at least the pitch shift/time shift thing though.

  • It's only the way it is because David is a freakin' sniper with his mouse... watch some of his YouTube vids... he's like, one... with the mouse... or something.

  • Wow nice one

    Really diggin' the graphics.

Game is a tad repetitive with only the one enemy type (ther may be more, but I got stuck at the second laser gate... couldn't figure out how to open it), but has major potential.

Extremely well done as far as I am concerned, especially for a demo.

  • My laptop doesn't have enough USB ports to support 360 controllers.

  • Good lord, doesn't any one else check out the third party stuff?

Heck the whole thing is an amalgam of snippets found on the forum.

Ehh screw it, there's no way Ill have time to work on this.

    Protip:

Add the third party things you used to make the project, into the RAR file. I don't play with third party stuff generally until it's finished, or I have a need for it.

  • GTX280 will be a better option by miles than the 275.

Also, a motherboard with dedicated SLI will be better than a hybrid board that does SLI or CROSSFIRE.

Needs bigger PSU, definately. 850W is not enough for two GPUs like that.

Why do you want 2 blu-ray burners? Why do you even want one blu-ray burner? Wait 18 months until they become $50 like a DVD brner is now... instead of $400 and $50 per blank 50gb disc.

Solid state drives are a waste of money unless you are running a server farm. Save your cash and get some normal drives with big capacity.

Other than that... it looks OK, though Ash already mentioned the thing about the sound card... don't use onboard sound unless it's good. My board came with an X-Fi card, which is partial onboard, and partial 1x PCI-E daughterboard.

A can't stress enough though how much better the GTX280 is than ALL other GTX cards, including the latest GTX295's. The 280 kills them all.

I'm not entirely sure what price difference you are looking at between the 275 and 280, but whatever it is, it's worth it.

    *EDIT*

The HAF is a really nice case

I saw it at the Thermaltake show before it was released... I was very impressed by what I saw... have to let me know if it's as good as it "looked" at the time

    set frequency?

Yeah that kinda makes it go all "squealy" doesn't it?

Have you ever played with an audigy or x-fi sound card? Or even better the old SB Live, using the creative pitch changer? You can actually speed up and slow down sounds without changing the frequency... so the sound still sounds the "same" but faster or slower. It's kinda hard to explain if you haven't played around with it yourself.
