    To keep from hijacking this thread much more, I'll keep it short

    Indeed you raise some interesting points. Thanks for taking the time to put that together. Very explanatory, which is what I like when someone tries to make a point about something! It's always good to have the info to backup the statement.

    I will most likely be checking out some of the things you mentioned, though for me the problems you listed I can't say I have seen on my system... but it doesn't mean they aren't there.

    Oh, also I use K-lite basic, not the full bloatware version, but I may check out the codec pack you mentioned... in fact I think I already have it but it's probably an old install by now.

    Could you please not do this. Both VLC and K-Lite are rather inadequate playback solutions.

    I recommend either Media Player Classic HomeCinema (MPC-HC) or Combined Community Codec Pack, both playback solutions superior to the quoted two in basically every way. MPC-HC can be used as a standalone player (like VLC), while CCCP is a completely DirectShow-based playback solution (that comes with MPC-HC and another great DirectShow player called ZoomPlayer).

    I fail to see how you can classify VLC or K-Lite as "inadequate". I have never had a problem with them when installed... VLC plays every file format (more than Media Player) plus it's far more light weight AND easier to make playlists with.

    I also do large amounts of video encoding, re-encoding, creation, and Video DJ'ing.... and not once have I had a codec or playback issue.

    Also, I prefer to NOT have 3-4 different players installed.

    How is what you recommended "superior"? I would like to know, because if it truely is I might check it out... but if you are plucking words out of the air based on assumption then I'll stick with my "inadequate" products thanks.

  • Moat people tend to make the gun separate from the player (refrencing Ash's example of it's potential use), which is probably why it doesn't get used much...

    However!

    I didn't even know it was there let alone what it did. I can see uses for this already... I vote leave it in for Construct 2 personally!

    Anyway...

    A lady walks into a Lexus dealership. She browses around, then spots the perfect car and walks over to inspect it. As she bends to feel the fine leather upholstery, a loud fart escapes her.

    Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and hopes a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns back, there standing next to her is a salesman.

    "Good day, Madame. How may we help you today?" Very uncomfortably she asks, "Sir, what is the price of this lovely vehicle?"

    He answers, "Madame, I'm very sorry to say that if you farted just touching it, you are going to **** when you hear the price."
