  • Even though I was working on an RPG, I really want to make a platformer. I'll probably end up making an RPG sometime in the distant future, though.

    RPG PLATFORMER!!

Welcome to the boards by the way

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I have to agree that as far as a gamepad for the PC goes, as much as I LOVE Logitech... the 360 pad is easily the best. Unless you play fighting games like SF4, because the p-pad is terrible

  • This is also very typical of power supplies.

Mine has been playing up lately, and I notice high pitched noises when certain things are on the screen, or certain operations are being performed.

If I lightly tap the power supply with a hard object (like my knuckle) it will temporarily stop.

If this is happening from your power supply, the poer supply is deemed faulty according to warranty guidelines and should be exchanged (if warranty still applies) or replaced if you can't deal with the noise.

Luckily my PSU is under warranty still, and I plan on getting it swapped over since the problem is new and it wasn't exactly a cheap PSU.

  • Cool idea, but there is already a good destructible terrain model available in my Tonks demo.

If you want the terrain cap file to see how it works I'll be more than happy to upload it

This idea would certainly make "tunnels" easier though... I'm actually kind of struggling with idea's as to how this would work with my current terrain model.

  • Just played the build of Tonks you have up, very nice, I used to spend countless hours playing Scorched Earth YEARS ago, this brought back memories...

Hmmm... The game isn't so fast actiony, I would normally think thrash metal for tanks, but for this I'm thinking something a little slower, brain pounding doomdeath stuff... I'll throw some ideas together and PM you when I have something to show you... Definitely down for this though, I really like what you've got going so far!

Awesome I'm glad you like it

Many hours of brain grindingly craptacular bug hunting, and loads of help from some of the more mathemtacially minded members here... got it where it's at thus far.

I will leave the music to you my good sir Like I said, it's not really my forte' so I'm sure whatever you come up with will be awesome.

Cheers for looking into it... it's time to kick this back into gear.

  • Time for a bump bump bumpity bump since we now have a new stable version of Construct and work can continue!

    YAY!

I look forward to getting back into this and implementing some of the core gameplay mechanics like the weapons system. I feel it is time to start adding the "fun stuff" providing everything checks out in the new version of construct.

I have all of your weapons submissions saved, so do not fret if you do not (still) see it on the main post.

Thanks to everyone so far for your contributions, I will make sure it will not go to waste!

  • Hi Azazel

I've been casually asking around for awhile now if anyone would be interested in making some music for TONKS.

    See thread

I think a metal soundtrack would really rock with something like tanks shooting at each other. I'm not really fussed as to the direction for the music since I don't know much about composing, but I was looking for something with a bit of pace to it to give that feel of combat.

Also, I would like the soundtrack to loop seamlessly if possible so you don't notice the end of the song when you are playing the game.

Feel free to take a shot if you want! You will be fully credited in the game for anything you wish to contribute, along side everyone else who has had a hand in this pie.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Heh, my sister and her girl friend got it. 'm concerned wether i've cought it too - did you have filling of pressure on your chest and dry kof?

Not so much pressure on the chest, but a dry cough for sure.

Go get checked out man, better safe than sorry.

  • SB how did you felt day before you felt ill?

Extremely fatigued, like I had just woken up first thing in the morning but it lasted all day. I was also sore through my muscles and got shivers easily if it was even slightly cold.

  • > Wow, that sucks. And now it's such a great solution... oh, btw, can you somehow connect PS3 Controllers to the PC without too much *********

    >

PS3 controllers as far as I'm aware are standard bluetooth. You should be able to connect them like any other bluetooth device.

Yes I'm fairly certain this is the case.

  • Hacking... what?

I thought it's common knowledge how that stuff works.

Last time I attempted this was like 3 years ago when the 360 first came out, and there was no such thing as a dongle that you buy (which I only just discovered), so before then you had to hack a standard bluetooth dongle to get it to work... too much effort, which is why I went with a wired controller at the time.

  • A camera viewport that could be made into any shape would be super awesome.

Making things like sniper scopes, or three way splits, or other non-typical uses would be a lot easier, and also allow for more felixibility.

  • Hi guys, and welcome!

Also yes, if you have questions, please ask them! That's what we are here for!

  • Minor, I like that art style you've got going on there.

Keep it up man, would love to see a playable version once you're at that stage.

    This. All of it.
