  • The object is rendered at the end of the tick, but it's drawn at the position it was at the time of the paste action.

  • It seems to be running fine here. Construct provides tools for you to check performance and investigate why things are slow if you run the debugger and look at the profile tabs. That's the first place to go.

  • Is this not possible with C3's drawing canvas due to the paste object action only happening at the end of each rendering frame and outside of the normal order of events and actions?

FYI that doesn't happen, it draws where the objects are at the time of the paste action. I think you're referring to an old bug where that happened, but the bug was fixed.

  • What device are you running this on? Is it a low-end Android device?

C3 uses a special tilemap rendering shader which is something like ~40x faster than C2's tilemap rendering, but it requires high precision math in the shader for good quality rendering, which something like ~99.5% of devices support. I suspect you have one in the 0.5% of devices...

  • That's an insecure (HTTP) server. Most modern web features only work on secure (HTTPS) servers.

According to the implementation status the Android Webview is not currently supported, so it won't work in APKs, but they say it should be supported in future.

  • re maps, I Ive got it now except how to pass multiple parameters.

i can see from the advanced example that you are passing one parameter (from index 1)

but how to pass more than 1?

Just add them. It means "pass all parameters from index 1 to the end" - not only to pass 1 parameter.

  • Previously you could call functions by an expression of their name, e.g. "Call myVariable". In this case assume "myVariable" could be one of "foo", "bar" or "baz", and so it calls the function according to the provided string.

The new builtin functions don't support this. Instead you separately associate a string with the function. E.g. associate string "foo" with function Foo, associate string "bar" with function Bar, and associate string "baz" with function Baz.

Then you call a function by its string with the "Call mapped function" action. So you'd use "Call mapped function myVariable", and it calls either Foo, Bar or Baz based on whether the string is "foo", "bar" or "baz".

So it basically does the same thing as calling a function by an expression of its name, but with a different approach. If you want to pass parameters, it also has an option to forward parameters from another call. The benefit is now 'Find all references' is accurate, and you can safely rename functions without breaking anything.

  • There is no limit. If you read the documentation you'll note all objects in a container create and destroy together. So if the Particles object is set to destroy after 1 second, and it's in a container, it'll destroy the whole container.

  • The browser plays the beep, probably as a browser usability and security measure to make it clear to the user speech recognition is active. It seems fairly short and inoffensive, why would you want to remove it? I suspect browser makers would consider removing it as a sign the web page is trying to silently steal your voice input, which would be a serious privacy violation. Anyway, Construct doesn't control that, the browser does, and the code provided is Java so is not applicable to Construct.

  • This is a thread about Bluetooth... I'm confused, is that question supposed to have anything to do with Bluetooth?

  • I don't know why that would happen, sorry. I tried it on a Pixel 3 with Android 9 and it seemed to work fine. Maybe you could connect USB debugging and see if it logged any console messages about it.

  • Try using the Drawing Canvas snapshots feature.
