  • Oh, one more thing - you might find the system 'wait' action handy! You don't need the 'ExplodeTimer' variable - just have on right click, create the ball, wait 2 seconds, then the actions to destroy it. It makes the events a bit simpler!

  • Try Construct 3

  • That's fun, cool demo :)

Have you thought about hosting your game on Dropbox? Then everyone can play in their browser rather than via a .rar file.

  • , we'll probably be making changes for a long time to come, but there will come a point where the HTML5 exporter needs very little work, rather than the constant heavy coding we're doing on it now. Once we reach that point, that frees us up for a new exporter, even if we're tweaking HTML5 from time to time.

  • You can set gravity via the 'set gravity' action!

Things like buoyant objects and balloons rising are actually due to fluid dynamics. In other words, a balloon rises because it is less dense than the gas of the air around it, and objects float because they are less dense than the liquid around it. The Box2D physics library only simulates solids - no liquids or gases. So you have to 'fake' these effects yourself. It's not hard to do - try applying an upward force slightly greater than the force of gravity while the object is supposed to float.

  • Fixed - see this post. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • If you downloaded r60 before reading this post, there's a bug which breaks Sprite's 'is overlapping'. Duh, sorry about that, it's a silly bug I thought I tested. Will try harder next time.

This update doesn't deserve its own new release so I've simply updated the setup file linked to by r60. If you download it after reading this post, you're OK.

Otherwise if you downloaded already before reading this post, you can either download and reinstall, or the only changed file is Sprite's runtime.js - download that file and paste it over <install path>\exporters\html5\plugins\sprite\runtime.js. That should fix it and has the same effect as downloading and reinstalling.

    Sorry for the bother!

  • This is a very basic question, have you tried the beginner's tutorial that goes over the basics of events?

  • Can you try running C2 as an administrator and see if that works? (If you have permission)

It ought to work on non-admin accounts though - are you running any other servers from your PC?

  • Try image points! Objects can only have one pivot point, because that's the point they rotate around. However, if you click the image points tool, you can add and place as many image points as you like. Then you can position objects by them via the events - set position to object, the ImagePointX/Y expressions, etc.

  • There's no limit on the layout size. In fact, you can keep it small, enable 'unbounded scrolling', and you can keep scrolling more or less forever. However, you'll have to generate your levels by code (there's no practical way to design such a large layout in the editor).

  • Some users have been able to wrap a HTML5 game in a C# EXE - should be a thread about it back in the forum somewhere...
