  • Have you read the Physics basics tutorial?

hings like incredibly heavy objects piled on a stack of really light boxes, huge piles of objects, or very fast moving heavy objects tend to cause instability. Try to keep everything in your game at reasonable proportions.

I would expect a density ratio of 100:1 is too much for the physics simulation to handle. You should keep things far more reasonable otherwise you can't expect realistic results - I'd say 10:1 is more reasonable for densities.

  • You can't, and I don't think the ability will be added: INI files are a very old out-of-date technology used since Windows 3.1. It's been completely overtaken by XML, and INI files are not used on the web at all, ever.

  • You're asking extremely broad questions, so you're likely to get extremely broad answers. If you ask "Can I make a sports game in C2?" I'd answer with just... "yes"!

  • Can you post the .capx?

  • Why are you trying to open a .am7 file in Construct 2? :S I've never heard of it, it's definitely not supported! That's the correct error message for opening the wrong kind of file (note "is this a Construct 2 project file?").

  • chrisbrobs it sounds like an ongoing issue with your computer - I don't think I'll hold back r60 just because of that. I'll look in to it more when I get back, but I was mostly worried about issues with saving projects. Crashes are much less severe - you might lose work up to the last time you hit save (hopefully not more than 15 minutes work!). However, save issues can prevent your project opening, and unless someone helps recover it, for most people that's everything (days/weeks of work). So I'm happy to put r60 on autoupdate so long as you haven't had any project saving issues.

  • I'll see if I can add it for a future build. You mean a limit on how far the revolute joint can rotate?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • chrisbrobs, does a new project crash or just that one you linked to? Do they crash in the editor or the browser?

It could still be bad drivers - latest doesn't necessarily mean stable. I've been amazed how bad some drivers are.

  • You've given the BluePlayerFrame the 'Scroll To' behavior. So, naturally the view centers on it.

    Does that explain it?

  • In the other thread, when I suggested using 'wait 2 seconds', the event said 'on right mouse button clicked'. That triggers once every time you click the right mouse button.

Here you've changed it to 'Sprite is on screen' - that runs 60 times a second so long as the sprite is on screen! So 60 times a second (about 120 times) you say "wait 2 seconds then spawn four balls...".

So even after the sprite is destroyed there are a total of 480 balls queued up to spawn over the next 2 seconds.

However, it did expose a genuine bug! I'll have a look at fixing that soon. In the mean time - either use the old way, or stick to a trigger like the original project.

I'm moving this thread to the 'bugs' forum so I don't forget about the issue :)

  • Hi all,

We're off on holiday soon - we'll try to check back from time to time but there won't be any releases during that time.

We had some nasty issues with saving projects in r58 and r59 which I hope are all fixed now in r60. I've been holding off enabling the auto-updater in case there are more issues.

Has anyone had any trouble with saving projects? If so, please do let me know right away. Otherwise, just before we go off, I'll hit the auto-updater so we can get everyone up to r60.

    Thanks!

  • Please, CenSilver, read how to report bugs. Reports like this are not useful to us. It is perfectly possible to make a .capx which works like that and encounters no bugs. We don't know what you are trying to do.

    From the guidelines:

reate a new topic with a descriptive title for the bug

ost your system specs ... including your browser

ost a detailed series of steps to reproduce the problem... include what you expected to happen, and what actually happened

For example, you appear to have given the Physics behavior to the entire level so everything is in free-fall. This might be what you intended. I don't know, maybe you are trying to make a game which plays entirely in free-fall? Interesting idea. Or maybe you consider it a bug? We're not telepathic, you need to include all the information in the "how to report bugs" guide otherwise we simply cannot do anything about reports like this. Please, help us help you.
