  • gerris - as I said earlier, it's neither a bug in Construct 2 nor in the browser. It's the graphics card driver that's at fault, so updating it might help.

  • All platforms with touchscreens, apart from the stock browser in Android 2.x, support multitouch. Even on Android 2.x you should be able to use CocoonJS to get multitouch support.

  • Tom's working on gradually rolling out the new site design (front page/forum style) across the whole site. It's a lot of work maintaining a large website!

  • tap - I tried that, and also tried without using DC - either crashed or didn't work. The bug I sent in covers both cases I think. The built-in AJAX object already contains code to try this workaround when in the appMobi container, but it either crashes or does nothing if you try to use it.

  • tap - I tested making an AJAX request from appMobi to an address that the server explicitly marked as allowed for cross-domain requests (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *) and it either crashes appMobi or just does nothing. I'm pretty sure it's something appMobi need to fix. I submitted a bug a while ago.

  • The best solution is just disable 'Use mouse input' in the Touch object and handle mouse and touch input separately.

  • Best ask ludei for improvements here, since I think this is something they would have to fix.

  • I cannot reproduce any issue in Chrome if I press the mouse down, move it outside then back in again, then release. It seems to work correctly. The only issue is if you press inside, drag outside, then release. The game doesn't receive the mouse up event, so still thinks the mouse is down. Then you have to click inside the game to get it working again.

I'm not sure what can be done about this - AFAIK the browser just won't send the mouse up event. Perhaps you could try playing with some iframe attributes like seamless or sandbox...

  • This is very likely a graphics card driver bug, not an issue with Construct 2 or Windows 8. Complain to your graphics card vendor. Up-to-date drivers can still be buggy, and the release of a new OS may mean drivers have been changed but not properly tested. This would also be why the issue does not happen on any other computers.

A possible explanation is the driver is incorrectly putting the 1259px wide image on the next power-of-two size texture at 2048px. This makes it resize to about half as wide. You could test this theory by making it another two pixels taller (129px) and it may again round up to the next power of two size at 256px, and make it display too narrow vertically as well.

Alternatively if you have Catalyst Control Center or the nVidia control panel or any other graphics card tweaking software, try uninstalling it or just reset to factory defaults. These tend to just be crapware that gives you options to break things.

  • We've had issues with bugs in the input drivers for Windows 8 devices. Does it fix it if you change it to use 'On any touch'? If you put the touch count in a text object on-screen does it get stuck at 2? If so it seems likely a device specific issue.

  • Try Construct 3

  • You're right, 'On any key pressed' should not block the browser default action. This is changed for the next build.

  • Thanks, should be fixed in the next build!
