  • Azis, can you reproduce this in r109? It includes the fix "Possible crash editing event variable actions when constant variables used in project", which sounds like it's already fixed.

  • ZhaoYun - it still works fine here. Can you provide any more info about which browser you're using and whether the problem occurs on different computers?

  • The official Function plugin from Classic also only used numbers for parameters, and the C2 Function plugin is based on the same. That's the main reason why. Also it's difficult to make the UI for variadic parameters within the editor (the 'add parameter' and 'remove parameter' links) when you need to specify both a name and a value. I think we'll leave it as it is for now - you could try dumping all parameters in to local variables in a function event so then you can reference them by name. That also allows for nicer syntax (ParamA + ParamB rather than Function.Param("ParamA") + Function.Param("ParamB")) as well as error checking (ParamC is rejected, but Function.Param("ParamC") is allowed).

  • This project appears to be working correctly. It uses a single "on any click" event which is different to your description of using left and right clicks - this event will run for both a left click and a right click.

  • I'll see if I can add an image point count expression for the next build.

  • msv0001 - it does, I added it in an update a while ago... unless you're looking somewhere else. What exactly are you looking at?

  • Does it happen across all browsers and computers that you've tried? I haven't seen anything like this. It may simply be that your hardware is not powerful enough to render in fullscreen, but can manage a smaller size screen.

  • I'll see if I can add something like this for the next build.

  • As it so happens, the exporter does implement a "constant folding" optimisation. If you type the expression 100 + 100, at export time C2 can calculate this and determine it's 200, and not export an addition calculation.

However it's almost completely irrelevant to performance. Don't waste your time worrying about this.

Anything not in the performance tips manual entry probably has negligable effect. Only things likely to have any effect are mentioned in that article, so if it's not mentioned there, you most likely do not need to worry about it at all. You could optimise all the math across an entire large project, and get maybe a 0.01% performance improvement, if you could even measure that accurately. Compare that to reducing the rate of a particles object which could get you a 1% performance improvement (100x better) at almost no effort at all.

  • Hmm... this is actually a bug, I didn't intend for it to work this way. 'On function' should be working with a clean slate and not involve any objects that were previously picked. If you add the condition 'Sprite: is on screen' to the 'On function' event it stops working as expected. So I'm afraid I think this will be fixed to work consistently in a future release.

  • This may be related to memory performance changes in r109, but there is really not enough information here to be able to do anything. Your screenshot does not seem related to the problem. Can you share your .capx?

  • This has been suggested before, but it's a pretty complicated feature to do. It would involve significantly re-doing some fairly major parts of both the editor and runtime. Perhaps in the long term.
