  • is it just like any other flu but hyped?

It's lke any other flu but 10 times more contaigious, 10 times more severe, and lasts 10 times longer in most cases.

I was lucky and got over it within only 2-3 days... everone else I know that got it (apart from one other friend who also got over it fast) has been sick for a week so far.... and I mean SICK, not like "Oh I feel sick, may as well phone work and have a day or two off.".... I mean like "Ugghhh.... *thinks about getting phone, but can't physically do it*... *pees self*.... uuughhhhh"

  • Wirelss ones won't work without hacking a bluetooth dongle... and by hacking I mean physically hacking it, not just loading software.

If you are running vista then the 360 controller drivers are already there and work well. If you are using XP then the drivers can be downloaded but they suck... so I recommend downloading XBCD Driver

    *EDIT*

Apparantly there is a proper adapter available now for the wireless controller for your PC. I still don't know if you need one for each controller or not - http://digg.com/gaming_news/Xbox_360_Wi ... _available

  • Oh that's just absurdly *****

I could see this making for some cool "magic" type effects in a game... where you have to summon bridges or other objects to progress through the level.

    Just sick.

  • Yes a proper plugin/addon would still be really awesome to have, but until then lucid's "hack" idea will work well, and suffice needless to say for projects that are leaning toward simple.

Thanks a lot for the example lucid

Now, to use my phone to call David, and get him to make a proper split screen viewport object.

  • How do you get an alpha channel into a jpeg?

    1. Open it in Photoshop

    2. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+S

    3. Under the file dropdown box, choose PNG24

    4. ?????

    5. PROFIT!!!

  • the temporary workaround would be to make everything invisible

    make 2 halfscreen canvases

    then 'always'

move camera to pointA, paste everything to canvas1

move camera to pointB,paste everything to canvas 2

You sir, are a genius... but then again you already knew that.

  • The problem you are having with the 3D boxes is a known "issue". It's not really a "problem" as such, but does require a workaround. I usually leave the 3D box as a non-solid, and create a "detector" sprite under the base of the box. Use the detector as a collider instead of the box itself.

Other than that, there has been some mention of improving the car behaviour... but custom movement would be the way to go if you want something really amazing.

  • Link is related

    Go.

  • Hahaha I use that line anyway... I migh get a "yes" this time at least xD

I'm sure everything will be OK... I'm pretty much over it already, but I'm a little worried about the kiddies.

  • I have it.

  • Yeah I guess same thing, different terminology... but yeah... being able to track two (or more) seperate objects on a single layout using a port view for each object/camera.

This would allow for some cool co-op style games, or even being able to do things like track an NPC target using a "viewfinder"... that kind of thing. Even racing games with scrolling layouts for massive track designs would be cool since players would be able to manouver around the track without having to resort to some of the oldschool tactics of appling penalties to the player who is lagging behind, and teleporting them forwards in order to maintain the single screen layout. (If that made any sense at all... I've had 3 hours of sleep so I'm probably not making much)

  • It's been awhile since one Shviller's very first threads...

How are the plans going to allow for a split screen game? I think Ash mentioned something about a layout in a layout or something to that effect.

Keen to hear more back on this as I have a use for a split screen "object" already.
