Thanks for the color tweak. I didnt see that at first because my phone. Didn't show the detail, now that I am on my computer i can see the inside lines colored and outside black. That looks great.

Thank you guys for your input/advice.

I removed the hair on the side. It looked better in the sketch and higher res version. After looking at it again (especially with the scaled down version), it does look like stubble. Thanks :)

Here is a version with a colored background (I updated the OP as well)

  • Hi, I'm working on my next game, Team Notion. I am currently trying to decide which of these styles I should do. Maybe you can help by choosing which ones you like.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I'm trying to bring my games to the consoles (Wii U, PS4, Vita). I initially started with the desire to create games for mobile but after the complications I ended up focusing on PC. Now that Notion is with Nintendo and Sony, I'm concentrating our efforts on consoles. I have to push forward and start using the more suitable dev software for the job. I am trying what I can for C2 to be able to get console exports but in the mean time, I'll need to continue building the next project in Unity.

    Waiting for C2's exporters though.

  • I must say that Unity 4.3 is looking pretty cool with the built-in 2d toolkit.

  • I draw everything by hand using a simple Zebra .5mm mechanical pencil. Then I trace over with an ink pen. Afterwards I scan into photoshop and then color it up and cut it out to put into the game. Tedious process but it's what I'm used to.

Here are two videos showing my overall art process:

my art studio from 2011 but it's literally the same tools that I use.

  • Thank you elafreat I am trying my best :)

A look at a pencil rough of Sandy's running while shooting cycle. Have things to tweak like adding an additonal frame to the end of the cycle but it's coming along. Soon will ink and color it.

  • I finally have the look that I want for Team Notion?. Now to go and finish drawing out the entire cast that will be in the game and begin animating.

Keeping it in a cartoon show style because maybe... just maaaybe it'll get picked up by Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon or something. Who knows...

  • More designing. Characters for the 1st level in the city. Planning the first boss to be a hamster who belongs to King Mike who transforms into a huge hamster
