  • I figured it out but will post the solution just in case anyone comes across this problem in the future.

    I had organized my videos in the project in subfolders. For some reason, subfolders don't seem to work (though I'm curious why subfolders are a feature if the videos within the subfolder can't be accessed during runtime. I wonder if this is by design or a bug? Ashley)

    What I ended up doing after hours of trying to figure this out...

    Now when I play the game, the videos play again.

  • Look up loader layouts.

    You have the ability to create your own loader layout and in the project properties, assign a layout to replace the construct splash screen.

  • The attack animation is being overridden by the other animations you have playing.

    You may need to create variables to know what state the player is in or check to see if the "Attack" animation is playing before returning to the Idle or Move animation.

    Something like this could work as well.

    Condition:

    Player > Platform is not moving

    Player > Player Animation "Attack" is not playing

    Action:

    Player > Player set Animation to "Idle"

  • Videos were working just fine for me then all of a sudden, none of my cutscenes will play. Can someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong or if there has been changes in how the video object works? I have read the documentation and for some reason it still doesn't play.

    I'm excited to share with you the pre-alpha demo of Super Ubie Island 2! This game has been a labor of love, and I'm thrilled to finally let you experience a taste of what's to come. I've poured my heart into every aspect of this project, from the art and coding to the overall game design.

    Super Ubie Island 2 is still under heavy development, so you'll likely encounter a few bugs and unfinished features. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as I continue to refine and expand the game.

    This game is a heartfelt homage to the 90s platformers that many of us grew up with and adored. I've drawn inspiration from classics like Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros 3, and Kirby to create a nostalgic yet fresh experience. I hope you enjoy the blend of familiar mechanics and new twists.

    I've done about 95 percent of the art myself. Contracted out some additional visual effects to help speed up development since it'll take me a long time to animate the long list of vfx I have.
