  • vee41 , I got that from the sales page here:

    https://store.unity3d.com/

heres the blog page you might like to see

lite version off unity free publishing to ios nd android

  • I must say that Unity 4.3 is looking pretty cool with the built-in 2d toolkit.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • The reason I initially brought up unity was just because of their announcement of 2d.

  • I'm currently doing a refresher C# course because when 4.3 releases I'm going to be all over it.

The 2d toolkit is beyond fantastic.

Won't have to worry about export using CocoonJS - does happy dance.

  • sosensible, That is really cool!

Unity fits into my 3D pipeline very easy. Now I can afford to fit it into my development :)

On the side I do Architectural visualization. For the past couple of years I have just been using the Blender game engine for real time projects. I would really love for my client to be able to see my work on their mobile devices.

2D tools sounds really interesting too. I just cant stand text based scripting and programming.

I wonder if Unity Linux support has improved? In the past their support was not so great.

I want to develop desktop games more than anything. Linux and SteamOS are my biggest targets right now. I am very pleased with Node-Webkit so far! C2 is really cool too for my desktop needs.

  • I'm trying to bring my games to the consoles (Wii U, PS4, Vita). I initially started with the desire to create games for mobile but after the complications I ended up focusing on PC. Now that Notion is with Nintendo and Sony, I'm concentrating our efforts on consoles. I have to push forward and start using the more suitable dev software for the job. I am trying what I can for C2 to be able to get console exports but in the mean time, I'll need to continue building the next project in Unity.

    Waiting for C2's exporters though.

  • Wow, Unity's 2D enhancements look very promising, especially for in-game animations of combined textures (just like Spriter for C2). But as always, I'm not going to judge until the non-beta is out and I can see for myself if it is as easy as C2's workflow is.

Once Scirra decides to take over control of the exporters by giving up 3rd party dependency, I think C2 will be back on the track for mobile/android/etc.

it's just too friggin' painful to daily watch all these threads popping up about cocoonjs/appmobi/phonegap, black screens, things not working, hacks just to get something working, hearing about X or Y not working, etcera. Let's get back on track man

  • Guys i wrote some things about a week ago.i asked for 3d inside construct or a different version of contsruct (c3 maybe) but i also mentionend that everytime we face problems with the exporters to ios and android the answer is ask ludei.

Maybe Ashley is time to think again about native exports and not 3rd party solutions.i read the comments of people here and i think im in unity forum.Unfortunately i understand that many of us (including me when unity 4.3 comes up) will take another path.i dont care about the 90 euros i paid one year ago i learned a lot of things whith c2 but i dont see any future.Maybe im wrong but thats what i believe.

Some said that unity has not the visual scripting method. That is not quite true.Unity has visual scripting methods from 3rd parties studios like playmaker, uscript, antares universe and a couple more(we have to pay for these, they are not free).Ok they seemed a lot messy and difficult than c2 visual scripting in the beginning but with practice anyone can achieve his goal.

Ok debugger is a great tool but analysing a game and then the same game after the exporter has many problems sorry but it doesnt solve the problems at all.ludei updates are like the holidays!!it takes place every three months or so..

Sometimes guys when you have clients its good to hear their needs and i thing that in the hierarchy of our needs the number 1 and faaaar from the second is DECENT NATIVE EXPORTERS.

So my opinion is either to get rid from the homepage the android and ios exporters with the *asterisk*,and work for native inside c2 exporters or under the icons of android and ios exporters please write "whith ludei technology" or whatever.AND NOT at the bottom of the page with very tiny-scaled letters.Because if its my ablolute first touch with the gamedesign-development thing and see it before i buy it maybe i dont know what the asterisk really meens but in time...!tgv@#$*#$%?!

Well , that asterisk meant something , right ?

Why re-invent the road , it's already pretty complex for a 1-man company to offer updates every 2 weeks , how about making a native exporter for EVERY platform , android , ios , etc ?

They are like twenty at Ludei , and they can't get it done right , you want one man to do it ?

But ... who knows , Ashley has already done the impossible <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

For everyone else complaining , please complain to the actual people behind the code , like Appmobi/Phonegab/Ludei

    Cheers !

    Edit : Hey , look what I found ,

Appcelerometer , they call it !

Could anyone test it out ?

Oh look , something else !

  • I posted about Trigger.io a while ago. Didn't get much repsonse.

  • Whiteclaws

if I bake bread with raisins, but raisins are not good, then in the eyes of customer it is my fault or farmer's who sold me raisins?

p.s. links you gave are for apps, not games

anyway: in 2014 Ashley will make Construct 2 plugin for Unity (kidding :)

  • Reading this thread is like watching an episode of Love Boat where the passengers plot a mutiny because none of them fell in love.

The only problem is half of them want to hunt for buried treasure, and the other ones want to hold it for ransom.

None of them know how to sail a ship.

  • yeah, that's true about none of them know how to sail a ship, they shouldn't develop games for android and iOS using CocoonJS, target to browsers with touch support such as flash games without plugin, so forget about iOS and Android.

  • newt

passangers don't know how to sail, that's why they pay for ticket (Construct 2) instead of building their own ship (programming); unfortunetly bridges (i.e. CocoonJS) leading to the port (Android, iOS) are not so good.
