  • Guys, please bear in mind this is an English language forum for moderation reasons.

You need to at least include a translated version of your posts if you want to post in another language.

  • Moved to the C3 How Do I section, seeing as you're building in C3.

  • When editing your own thread you should have the ability to add more tags (as long as you haven't already hit the limit) wouldn't that work?

So if your issue has been solved, you could go back into the OP of your thread, click edit and add a 'Solved' tag, maybe in front of the others.

  • TechBoxNorth you're a star! I'll take a look at these later today. Thank you!!

Update: I've got the system to work! I've combined TBN's 'long-winded' code method with the timers I was using before, and now I have multiple NPCs walking about and not being stuck on solids!

Next step is implementing the 'State Interruption' thing. 🤔

  • Try Construct 3

  • Just a quick update - the Transition System tutorial has had a new bit added covering the method I used to show area names in the game. You can find the link to the tut in the opening post!

  • Hi everyone!

If you didn't know already, I've started doing Twitch streams twice a week. One for playing games built using Construct, and one where I build a game!

(If you want to give us a follow, we're ConstructTeam)

Seeing as streaming is becoming more and more popular, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where users can share their channels if they're doing Construct content! Streaming is a great way to start building a community around yourself, game or studio, which in turn can help you with marketing your creations. The more people that know about and like what you're making, the more people you have who can spread your message!

So, if you're creating a game in Construct and you're streaming as you go, let us know! It would be good to find some channels to host when we're offline too!

If you're streaming on another service, like YouTube or Mixer, tell us about those too. Happy to add links to this post!

  • Afraid not jobel - I have to stream when I'm in the office, so I've picked the times based on what currently works best here. Timezones are a pain, so it's inevitably going to be really hard to find a time to suits everyone.

There may be some flexibility further down the line, but right now, I don't think the times will change.

  • Thanks TechBoxNorth!

  • From the FAQs mentioned in the first post in this thread:

How do I submit my game?

First, make sure your game works within the Gamee emulator. Once it does, send us the link to the working game within the Emulator to createdpz@gamee.com and share with us the game via Dropbox/Drive/...

How do I test the game in emulator?

You need to upload the game to a hosting (for example Netlify) and paste the link to emulator.gameeapp.com For C3 games, you can use the remote preview.

    What format do I submit?

No need to send .capx. HTML5 export and link for the playable version within the emulator are enough.

If you need further clarification perhaps GameeApp can help.

  • Please refrain from posting duplicate threads in different sections of the forum. I have moved both of your threads to the Construct 2 WIP section and marked them as duplicates.

  • Appreciate the support NotionGames & Karoi! Despite the frustrations, I am enjoying it so far!

Also, I've just published a new blog post. The first post here has been updated with the link 🙂

  • Glad you've had a great time with Construct! I enjoyed Football Dash, so I'll have to give some of the others a try :) Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with Lumicreative.com

  • As part of the new Twitch Channel I have decided it's really about time I learned how to use Construct 3 properly so I'm building a game! It's going to be a Pokemon-inspired RPG game - hence the working title.

A small description about where the actual title comes from, taken from one edition of the blog:

I'll also be posting updates on the imaginatively titled Construct Stream Companion Blog, which gets a new post every Friday. And, with any luck, there will also be some tutorials based on the mechanics the game will use. All linked here!

Anyway, let's talk about the game.

Pokemon-inspired RPG, in a Game Boy Advanced style, with many of the features from Pokemon we know and love, as well as a few twists of my own. Ambitious? Very. But hey, what's life without a challenge or two right?

This is going to take a long time. But I hope there'll be a game I can be proud of at the end of it. Plus a bunch of resources to go along with it. I plan to make tutorials of as many mechanics as I can! So hopefully you guys will find it useful.

If you want to join in with my development streams, they'll be live on a Tuesday 1.30-3.30pm UK Time. It'll mostly be chilled chat, with a bit of game development and maybe even so co-op coding if I get stuck. If you can't tune in live, the streams will stay on Twitch for two weeks, and will also be uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Also, things that don't really fit in the blog, will probably end up here. I look forward to sharing bits and pieces with you!

Side note - if anyone else is streaming Construct content on YouTube, Twitch, Mixer etc. Feel free to add your channel to our new list!

    Update!

As part of the Twitch streams, anyone who views/interacts will earn themselves loyalty points. I've now come up with a way of using these points. Introducing Adopt an NPC!

It's explained more in this blog post, but if you want to adopt an NPC, this spreadsheet contains all the data, including how many points it'll cost to adopt, and which bits you can customise!
