    You can already save your project to a folder and overwrite the image files there... you just need to have Construct 2 closed. Is that something you need to do with Construct 2 still open?

    What do you mean by sprite reload?

  • Setting up PHP and a database is a reasonably complex thing to do, needing some technical knowledge. I don't think Scirra is the place to go to learn about PHP and databases. There are already loads of free tutorials to find to learn about that - I think any tutorial on Scirra should assume you know about PHP and databases already, and just show the part where you access it via the AJAX object.

  • I've looked in to it and Android 3.0+ has hardware accelerated canvas. Not sure when that's coming to phone handsets (it seems to be tablet only right now), but I'm sure it will soon!

  • Both Game Maker and Construct 2 have a basic free edition, and the option to get a license which has more features and less limitations. They're equal in that regard. I think you'll choose Construct 2 because it's better and cheaper than Game Maker HTML5 :) Or, if you prefer, you can stick to the Free Edition at no cost at all.

    when u add new action and the window with actions listed opens, u have to click in it to be able to scrool up and down.

    would be nice that u could do that without clicking .

    That's because the focus is to the search box in the top right. It's intentional, because if you get in to the habit of typing a few characters from the object/action/condition you want, you can usually find stuff much quicker than mouse - and even end up completely 'typing in' events without touching the mouse.

    So if I change that I think it would annoy the pros who like how quick it is to do it that way...

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Another good solution might be to use event sheet includes on each event sheet for a layout. Then, you still have the opportunity to add events specific to each layout.

  • OK, this should be fixed in the next build. Thanks for the report!

  • One way is with a local variable:

    [Local number 'temp' = 0]

    + If condition 1

    -> Set temp to 1

    + If condition 2

    -> Set temp to 1

    + If condition 3

    -> Set temp to 1

    + If temp = 1

    -> ... a long list of actions ...

    It's not ideal, but it does at least save you duplicating the whole list of actions. It also loses the picked objects. If that's a pain, you can use a temp instance variable instead (but calling it 'pick' to make it a bit clearer):

    + Every tick

    -> Set Sprite 'pick' to 0

    + Sprite condition 1

    -> Set Sprite 'pick' to 1

    + Sprite condition 2

    -> Set Sprite 'pick' to 1

    + Sprite condition 3

    -> Set Sprite 'pick' to 1

    + Sprite 'pick' = 1

    -> ... a long list of actions on Sprite ...

    This way saves you duplicating all the actions again, and remembers the picked objects.

  • Hi, can you post a .capx demonstrating this?

  • You could look in to PhoneGap for converting Construct 2 HTML5 games to native phone apps for Android, iOS and some others.

    For #2: Construct 2 is intended to be a good tool to develop large and complex games in. You can move on to a language if you like, but Construct 2 is designed to handle these kinds of games as well. You could even start writing javascript plugins to customise parts of your game.

    For #4, I'm not sure any of us can tell you! It's up to you, and besides, wouldn't being that successful be kind of a nice problem to have? <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Just sent a response. Hopefully this is cleared up now!

  • Sorry for the trouble, my mailbox filled up! I've cleared it out now, if you resend your mail it should receive correctly.

  • I've seen this in Chrome, but it's a browser bug. The javascript definitely detects key-ups (and it works fine in Firefox), it's just Chrome seems to have a problem with it.

    Will have to close this bug as "can't fix" I'm afraid - maybe logging a bug on Chrome's tracker will help...
