We don't have global objects yet - so all objects in a layout (not including input objects like mouse and keyboard) are destroyed at the end of the layout. The 'global' option will give you an option to override this and allow objects to continue to exist across layouts.
It's also worth mentioning: objects don't actually belong to any particular layout. If you add an object, it is available project-wide, so you can place that object in any layout you like. So it would be incorrect to show objects as belonging to a specific layout in the editor.
In short:
We're hoping to add this in a future event - in the mean time you can try saving to a project folder, copy-pasting the XML file for the layout or event sheet you want to duplicate, then adding a tag for it in the .caproj file.
We fixed some project corruption bugs in r54! Construct 2 is beta software, you should really stay up to date with the latest version!
I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do - we only support bugs in the latest build of Construct 2, because otherwise we can't tell if the problem is already fixed!
I've managed to recover most of your project though - download here, then please upgrade to the latest release right away. The project is mostly intact but I'm afraid the "Bird01", "PathMark" and "Splash_Hit" objects lost their images - these objects are now transparent (no texture).
At runtime or in the editor?
Nice example! If you create the snow objects at Y: random(LayoutHeight) as well, then you don't need to wait a while for the snow to 'even out'.
It should be fine. One way to test it is run it and see! :)
It's actually not a hard concept to get your head around - an AJAX request is a bit like opening the page in a browser, and the returned data (LastData) is the text that appears in the browser page. Still, a tutorial would be useful.
The platform behavior has 'Speed' and 'MovingAngle' expressions which describe the velocity in polar coordinates, and 'dx' and 'dy' expressions which describe the velocity in cartesian coordinates.
We're still working on the manual - when it's done it will cover expressions!
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
sqiddster, as far as I can tell it works fine. Can you upload a .capx showing it not working?
We're planning an arcade, but it's at the end of a list of other similarly big projects.
The browser right-click menu can't be changed, because, well, it's the browser's menu!
However, as the other posts indicate, you can always make your own menu out of sprites and text or whatever, and have that shown.
