  • Sorry for the late reply, I had a week off.

This sounds more like a Chrome bug to me so it might be better to watch that bug report - as per the HTML5 spec, Construct 2 exports a modified offline.appcache file with changed contents to trigger an update, and if reloading a few times does not update the files then Chrome is not acting in a standards compliant way.

What I think is the workaround is to submit your game as a hosted app on your server, rather than hosting it on the Chrome Web Store itself. It will still work perfectly offline, you just need to be online for the first play. Perhaps the other Chrome Web Store apps which seem to have working appcaches use this approach too.

  • — - the video you posted is private so I can't view it. Can you provide more details about the problem? What is going wrong?

  • Any updates? Otherwise I will have to close the report.

  • As Kyatric says atio6axx.dll is the ATI display driver. So this crash is ATI's fault, not ours, and there's nothing we can do about it. You need to contact AMD (who bought ATI) to resolve the problem. You should double check you have the latest graphics card driver. For more background read this blog post: Driver problems? Complain to your graphics card vendor

Some users have had crashes from having too many tabs open - deleting your .uistate.xml files and reopening the project might help.

  • It's difficult to achieve without messing with the runtime. I think the easiest way would be to use an iframe in the div with a liquid size that shows another page with the fullscreen game on it. As the iframe resizes it should (I think) correctly resize the game on the iframe page.

  • Just use the system 'For' condition - isn't it just one extra condition?

  • The particles object is a tradeoff between keeping it simple to use (having pages of options is not intuitive to use) and yet providing all the features people want. I think the best thing to do is use the Particles object, but if that does not suit your needs, just invent your own using Sprite objects. It should be relatively straightforward - just spawn sprites with the bullet movement at regular intervals, and use events to customise their size, angle, opacity etc. throughout their lifetime.

  • This is really annoying, PhoneGap keep breaking things and their changelogs aren't good enough for me to know what to do to fix it. I'll get in touch via their support system and see if I can work out a way to fix C2 and PhoneGap 2.0.

  • Mobile devices are generally too weak to support complex physics games. You should avoid using physics for mobile devices if possible.

  • AppMobi supports polyphonic audio, so this is an odd issue. Are you sure you correctly categorised your music tracks in the music folder and your sound effects in the sound folder?

  • Please see how to report bugs. Can you provide a .capx?

  • Try Construct 3

  • There is not much advantage to removing them. For example the Keyboard object will not have any performance impact on a touch device, and the Touch object will not have any performance impact on a desktop computer. It will add about 10kb to the exported javascript, but that's not a big deal.

I do not think unused plugins should be automatically removed, because it's conceivable a third party plugin could do something useful after simply being added to a project. In this case if C2 automatically removed the plugin it would stop the plugin from doing its work as well. So if you want to remove a plugin from your project, just make sure it's deleted from the project bar.

  • Sorry for the delay, I was away for the last week.

Please send me any projects which crash so I can investigate them. I can often recover projects to stop them crashing as well. Please report issues like this as bugs and read how to report bugs - you *must* provide all the information mentioned for us to be able to help, otherwise we cannot do anything.

If you have too many tabs open, deleting all the .uistate.xml files in the project will reset the UI to default and open the project with no tabs open, or one tab open (I forget what it does in that case). If you have a .capx project, rename it .zip and extract it to get the folder project.

  • Closing as most of the information in this thread is now out of date. Look up expressions in the manual for the latest information.

  • The best way to search the Scirra site from Google is to use the "site:" directive. For example:

    query site:scirra.com

will search for "query" only on the scirra.com domain. (If you just type the name or URL of the site it will still match other websites which happen to include those terms.) I think this is what the site search does anyway.

Tom's aware of the inconsistency between different pages and hopefully will be sorting it out soon.
