  This is by design. If you pass a family to 'create object', it will pick a random member of the family and create that instead. You need to work around this by using e.g. an instance variable on each object that stores its type.

  In this case I think it just might be the offline cache playing up. If you re-upload your game to a new URL with all the images present, does it work? The offline cache might have cached the fact a file was missing (it can be pretty stubborn).

  Take a look at the Javascript SDK. Unfortunately there's no documentation on the collision masks, but the source code to the engine is viewable in the install directory. If you look up the Bullet behavior there's a function to get the angle of collision for an arbitrarily shaped object which might come in handy.

  Try running it from the start screen instead. Running from Visual Studio in 'debug' mode reduces performance, and it's faster once you publish.

  If it's a .capx, rename it to .zip and extract it. Now you have a folder based project.

  Create an empty image file with the name it says is missing, and the project should open.

  C2 only checks for an update after it's already started up, and in a separate thread so it doesn't hang the application.

  You don't need circular collision masks for that. See the 'bouncing bullets' example.

  To me it looks like an anonymous piece of hardware from an IT department. Still, I guess maybe they want it to have a low profile in the living room.

  I guess we don't know about HTML5, but I think there's a fair chance it might support it, since Windows 8 does already. It might even have WebGL, since the leaked IE11 supported it.

  Sony's stock has jumped on the announcement, heh!

  Mipey - yes, the latest betas support reading and writing local files with the node-webkit plugin, as well as loading local files via the AJAX object.

  If node-webkit doesn't come bundled with the files, it's effectively just the Google Chrome browser. So it seems to me, why not just get the user to install Google Chrome, which auto-updates itself as well?

  It's still standard practice to re-download a desktop app for updates. We do this with Construct 2 itself. You can make an AJAX request to see if there's a new version available, and prompt the user to download it.
