Wow, that's dumb. By the same logic, the entire internet is an attack site.

    Exactly.

Anyway, I think it might have been reported by a rival file hosting site to deter people away from it. It's a really good site, I hope they straighten things out.

Well, if you do click the report, apparently 39 of the pages google's visited are malicious, so it's not entirely unwarranted.

That's weird... yesterday when I clicked it didn't have any pages reported.

  • Actually if you read the reasons for the warning, they have no attacks to show for at all. It's only been reported as an attack site because "someone could upload something bad." Which is true of any file hosting site.

There's a link for webmasters to contact, I posted a thread at whff forums asking they straighten it out. I hope they do, I have a lot of files on whff.

  • Are you playing from file or from resource? Have you tried playing a different filetype? Explain exactly how you're making this, it would help figure out the problem. Posting a .cap when asking for help is always a good idea too.

  • Something else which may change to be aware of; 0.98 introduced tagged animations, so in 0.98.3 hopefully there platform behavior will automatically change the character's animations (if you tag them).

May be worth changing to that and explaining it briefly in the first tutorial .

I know, I have a lot of work ahead of me

I really like your pixel artwork. Will you ever do a tutorial on that?

Hehe, thank you but I suck... just as any real pixel artist. (Well, okay maybe not "suck" but I'm definitely nowhere as good as all that.) Anyway I'm not the guy who should be writing pixel art tutorials, that much I know. Luckily there are a whole slew of them here for you:

  • Sorry about that . Here's a no-sound version that should run fine for you: http://willhostforfood.com/users/deadey ... ock_ns.zip

Theoretically if I re-build the .cap with 0.98.2 it shouldn't have that problem. I'm working on a full version with the real ending if you want to wait for sound, otherwise go ahead and grab the no-sound verison.

  • I wasn't expecting it but I got an XBOX 360 with the Lego Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda pack, and GTA4.

Also, three pairs of jeans, two packs of socks, and a pair of jammies in a pear tree. Among other stuff like gift cards and small appliances.

My girlfriend got Super Smash Brothers Brawl, the first three seasons of Battlestar Galactica, and a bunch of girly crap, I don't know what all. She also screamed at her stepdad's crackhead daughter at the dinner table which was like, super bonus . All in all a good Christmas.

Oh she also received a ginormous jungle gym for our cats which I have to put together, and I have no idea where we're going to fit it in our small apartment.

  • I definitely thought the dropping through platforms with down was a bit strange, so a toggle there will be added. Jumping through sides should be fixed for 0.98.2 also.

    You are my hero

Hey deadeye, thanks for these, they were really helpful. I totally look forward to the rest.

Thanks man. Welcome to the forum, it's good to see you... and congrats on making the top ten with The Lake!

  • Nah, it's worth it for the new features

(As long as the solid-sided platforms are looked into *begs shamelessly*)

  • I'd recommend sticking to the more showy stuff. There's a lot of examples out there that are good from a programming perspective, but wouldn't necessarily look all that great on video because they use plain colored squares or whatever.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Havent tried it yet but :

    1. Is there a way to handle the bones in realtime ?

    2. Can we move the main-center point of the bones during the animation -> example ducking

Another example -> bobbing up and down while walking

I think this would be a useful addition. The system is looking great so far though

  • [quote:36yjorxs]First person to make a Sonic-style loop gets a prize! *Shot*

i think i can do that...

    LOL

Yesterday Candescence, Sol, and I were in chat discussing Candescence's game and when the topic of loops came up the first thing we said was "ask Quazi"

  • Crash when creating an event for custom families. Default families work fine, but user-created ones crash.

Also, the Platform attribute makes the sides of a platform solid as well as the top. Should only be the top that's solid... if you jump at it at an angle and hit the side you slide up and around it, which looks a little (very) odd.

Also the default "Move Down" control makes you drop through Platforms... not too handy in games with ducking. Perhaps a toggle for that somewhere...?

The offset for tiled backgrounds is SWEET. That'll make for some good effects .
