sqiddster single-frame sprites are already optimised to be equivalent to what a geometric shape object would have to handle.
Projects do not run from disk (the file:// protocol). Browser security limitations generally prevent projects from working when on disk. So we don't support this at all and it's no surprise if your project doesn't work there. Didn't you see a browser prompt telling you that? I added an alert when running on the file:// protocol that should say "upload this project before trying it".
kaga - I did not mean a zip of your project, I mean actually hosting it live :) See upload your game to Dropbox. If it works fine when hosted live (on http://) then I suppose there's no bug.
Great summary as always, thanks!
We've had geometric primitives, lines etc. on the todo list for a while. But it's almost identical to just pasting in an image to a sprite and using that. So it's not really a high priority.
I don't think there's any issue here, it's an original piece of artwork based around a well-known cultural symbol. If Taito care enough to tell us to change it, we will.
Please link us to your exported project so we can take a look ourselves.
The "log" snippet was to do with a bug only in r81, so if you're on the latest (r84) that does not apply.
The exact size of your layout does not matter if you use the 'fullscreen (scale mode)' option!
Kyatric is right, WebGL does not actually have the ability to draw text. So we work around this by having text layered on top of the WebGL canvas.
You can work around it if you put your text in Sprites or use the Sprite Font plugin - any way you can make your text appear without using the Text object should work.
This message only appears if a layout tab has never been opened in the project.
My best guess is a graphics card driver bug. Try updating your driver.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
Should be fixed in next build.
Tokinsom Hmm. I thought about it and I think there may be a bug in WebGL mode where in some cases linear sampling is still used despite the project setting. Are you using any layers with a nonzero opacity or 'Force own texture'? I'll make a tweak for the next build (should be a beta release today) and see if that helps.
Ah, interesting find - IIDs were not updated when destroying instances. Thanks, fixed in next build.
