  • Can you share your .capx and a link to the exported version of your game? Are you sure you're not exhausting the device's memory with too many images?

  • Construct 2 is a game engine. It's not designed to do VR things like that.

  • A looping animation has an infinite duration, so how does that help?

Animation speeds are in frames per second, so as long as you don't change the individual frame times, the duration for playing through once is number of frames / animation speed. E.g. 10 frames at 5 frames per second = 10 / 5 = 2 seconds duration.

  • You can detect updates with the Browser object and reload the page when it's ready to force everyone to use the latest version.

  • I'm afraid you can't detect when a web font has finished loading, browsers don't yet provide this feature. Workarounds are discussed in this tutorial though.

  • You could try Google Drive or SkyDrive, but neither will be as good as renting a cheap server.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Javascript SDK manual

The links work in the online manual. They're only broken in the offline manual, and the issue has previously been reported and should be fixed at the next stable update.

Moved to Javascript SDK forum. If you have questions about a specific third party plugin, you should direct those questions to the plugin developer.

  • Did you check the browser error console? Dropbox has had some problems hosting projects lately and sometimes fails to transmit a few files.

  • Closing as not a bug; it is showing the objects you can replace with, they're in the folders! I verified that opening a few folders shows objects that are candidates to replace with.

Please remember to include full details in your bug report, such as the exact event sheet and event number you're referring to. I had to spend a little while trying to find the event you were describing.

  • I would just like to officially confirm that objects off-screen are not rendered at all. This seems to be such a common misconception I think I'll add it to the manual.

For the record, here's how it really works:

    • if any part of an object is on-screen, the CPU issues a command to tell the GPU to draw it. If it's offscreen, the GPU never even knows it exists.
    • the GPU only draws objects that are on-screen, but is still smart enough to only draw part of an image if it goes offscreen. So if you have a tiled background the size of your layout, the GPU knows only to draw the part of it that is in the window. So off-screen content is still not rendered.
    • even if Construct 2 issued draw commands for objects that are off-screen, the GPU is smart enough to just completely ignore it, because it can tell it doesn't appear in the window. However this is a waste of CPU time issuing a pointless draw call, so pretty much every engine that has ever existed will simply not issue draw calls for stuff that is off-screen.

You could probably measure a really tiny performance impact from having lots of objects off-screen (like, tens of thousands). This is only because Construct 2 is checking if they are off-screen and then deciding to ignore them, which is such a tiny amount of work it usually doesn't factor in to the framerate at all. But they're definitely not being drawn.
