  • Unfortunately, there is no such expression. You need to loop through all instances and sum up all values:

    Global (or local) variable TotalAmount

For each Coins : Add Coins.CoinValue_IV to TotalAmount

  • I see you decided to try C3 :)

It's very easy to limit the number of lines.

  • Some of them follow the player. Some are fixed in the upper left corner.

Sorry, it's not clear. Is it a bug you need to fix? Or you want some objects to stay fixed in the corner, and other objects to follow the player?

If HUD layer has 0% parallax, then all objects on this layer will not move.

  • If you have Solid behavior on the Tilemap, you can simply disable it.

Or do you need to disable collisions for most tiles, except a few? In this case it would probably be easier to use a separate tilemap object for collisions. You can make it invisible.

  • Whoa, that's way too much coffee!! Thank you!

I added comments to the project, please re-download it:

  • 1. Event #2 needs to be sub-event under event #1.

    2. Add "Set size" action.

    3. Set image point position at (x=0, y=0) in the TILES_ICON sprite.

    .

Because layout is bigger than the map, you need to hide some tiles on the map and scroll the map. This may be difficult.

I suggest drawing the map on DrawingCanvas instead.

  • I think you can load it into JSON object. Then use JSON data directly, or transfer it to an array/tilemap.

  • .ascii() is only for debugging.

You can use .board() method to get an array with all pieces positions.

    Everything is explained here:

    github.com/jhlywa/chess.js

  • You can also add effects to the whole layout - it will affect all layers.

  • I am not sure what do you mean by exercises. The best way to learn Construct in my opinion is to start making your own game. You'll figure many things yourself once you start developing your game. If you have any questions search the forum and tutorials, read the documentation, and if nothing else helps - ask here and someone will help you.

  • Creating an inventory is not an easy task, it may be a bit too advanced for a beginner. Especially if you want multiple npcs in the game to have their own inventories.

One way to do it is to add an Inventory array (or dictionary). When any npc is created, also create a new instance of this array and link it to the npc using UID or some custom npc ID.

There are lots of other things you need to consider when designing an inventory - how it will be displayed, how items will be added, stacking/non-stacking items, limiting stack size, combining/splitting stacks, using/dropping items etc.

I would suggest to start by reading tutorials, there are quite a few:
