  NW.js is based on the same browser engine as Chrome, so I find it difficult to explain why there would ever be a performance difference between the two.

  If you're talking about Canvas+, that has been officially unsupported for some time now, because it's incompatible with so many features it basically never works. So if you try to use it you are on your own and should not have any expectation of it working correctly. The Cordova exports which are based on real browser engines are the officially supported export options for mobile, and as far as I am aware, they are working fine for the vast majority of users.

  It worked fine for me with NW.js 0.13.0-beta5, that's what the plugin was built for. Trying it with an earlier version might have corrupted the app data folder - try renaming the project and starting fresh with the right setup.

  Apple want to prevent webpages from forcing themselves to go fullscreen. There have been various hacks to fake fullscreen in Safari over the past few years, and they usually break or get changed in the next iOS release. So anything you come up with will likely be brittle and break quickly. The best solution is to encourage use of add-to-homescreen, publish a Cordova app, or hope Apple implement the fullscreen API in the next version.

  The "inspect" tab has a high CPU overhead, since it tracks a lot of data. It is normal for debuggers to have a high CPU overhead. That is the only reason it changes. If you want to make performance measurements you should be on the Profiler tab anyway.

  No. After dealing with literally thousands of useless bug reports, you either follow the bug report guidelines, or your report is ignored.

  Plugin update Feb 1st 2016! By building a new version of the Greenworks plugin myself, I've gotten it working with the latest NW.js 0.13+ versions. This is only set up to work with Win32/Win64 - I have not yet got the build working for Mac or Linux, so don't expect it to work there. If we can cover Mac and Linux, this should be able to ship with the official C2 releases. Until then it's still an experimental plugin with a separate download. Here's a copy-paste of what I added to the original post:

  Greenworks 0.13.0 - for NW.js 0.13+ (updated February 1st 2016)

  Changes in this update:

  • [ADD] Support for NW.js 0.13+ for win32 and win64 only (note Mac and Linux support is not expected to work in this release).
  • [ADD] 'On overlay activated' / 'On overlay deactivated' triggers
  • [ADD] GameLanguage and UILanguage expressions

  It was originally reported here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/sound-stop-playing-after-a-short-break-of-inactivity_t166126

  The alternative is sound stops playing completely, which is worse. Playing a fake audio buffer every 25 seconds is a big hack, but it's difficult to work around browser bugs like this. Star the Chromium issue to follow updates to it. When Google fix the problem, we will remove the workaround. Note the workaround only applies if the platform is detected as Android - it should not affect any non-Android systems.
