  • What events did you use to detect touches? Could you post your project file so we could take a look?

  • Classic lets you load layout-by-layout, but it's not so important - it generally starts up within seconds either way, rather than spending a long time downloading content, because it's all stored locally in the EXE. Classic's options are more for saving VRAM, where C2 needs layout-by-layout loading so it doesn't take 10 minutes to launch the game.

  • C2 should handle large games just fine in future - your projects save to folders for collaboration, and you can organise everything in the project to subfolders and event sheets to keep track of things.

I'd warn you that it'd be best to wait until C2 is a bit more developed and its stability better proven before you go off making huge games. For example, large games definitely need a layout-by-layout loading system, and right now C2 loads the entire game before running. We're going to fix that though, so in a few months it should be a reliable, fast engine for big games :)

  • Flow, if you saw the kind of stuff that comes up on the site's referrer list... that doesn't actually surprise me! :P (For the record I have no idea why they link to us - I think it's referrer spam!)

  • I'm aiming to replicate Classic's save system at some point (it's just one action, and it automatically saves the entire game). It's on a very long todo list of features, though.

  • Yeah, I'm actually gonna come out and say I think we should have sigs too! People can link to their websites in them, and I always had documentation links in mine.

I'm sure Tom's on it though, he's upgrading the forum again soon.

  • Do you mean Downloadable Content? It should be possible. There's already the AJAX plugin that allows you to retrieve text data, but I don't see why it can't dynamically request textures and other content in future.
