  • Huh, that's crazy - we store the user ID as a string, but the ID length has jumped from 9 digits to 15 digits. I didn't look closely enough - I thought it was just adding a 10th digit! So instead of being in the billions, it's now in the trillions. Unusual move on Facebook's part. It's only *just* within the integer range of a double precision float!

It turns out the UserID expression was truncating the result to a 32-bit integer. Notice 100000668370244 % (2^31) = 944817476. I've changed the UserID expression to return a float now, so hopefully the result can fit now!

Leaves me wondering what Facebook are going to do next :-\</p>

  • I checked the Facebook plugin source, and I have no idea how this could happen. We simply store the user ID that the Facebook API gives us. Facebook are notorious for constantly having problems, glitches and outages on their API - a lot of problems simply clear themselves up after a few days. Could you try again some time next week and let me know if it's fixed/the same? (Yep, this is a pain, I had to deal with similar problems when making the plugin...)

  • I can't reproduce this, the scrollbars always correctly appear. Can you share any more steps on how to make this happen?

  • This is because we don't yet support IE10's 'pointer events', which is their own custom version of touch events. If they just supported the industry standard one it would just work, but IE have to be different again :-\ It's on my todo list to add support for pointer events, so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • There is an object in your game called sealador_fuerza, which exports a file called sealador_fuerza-sheet0.png. It's probably a character encoding problem with the server so it cannot understand the character and thinks the file has a different name. Perhaps your server is set up wrong? Alternatively, renaming the object to not include an accented character may fix the problem.

  • francoisdiotte, it worked OK for me in fullscreen, which particular combination of settings/browsers did you try?

  • 'Is on mobile device' is an approximation only, so you shouldn't use it for important things like determining input. Besides, why would you want to disable touch for touchscreen-enabled desktop computers?

  • OK, closing this thread - best take it up on StackOverflow.

  • The games should work fine on IE 9+. If they still don't, please let us know the URL so we can see what is going wrong!

  • This isn't currently supported in the Text object (since it draws to a canvas it does not use CSS rules about line height, only the typeface). I'll see if I can add something for the next build.

  • ranma - well, I mean if you have a stereo track and encode it both before and after downmixing to mono. Most codecs encode stereo as M+S (mid and side) rather than L+R, so in a stereo track with identical L+R channels the side channel is zero and should compress to nothing. Most encoders also use variable bit rate (VBR) so choosing '96 kbps' does not mean it will definitely generate that much data per second, it's just an approximation, and it will be less if the audio is easy to encode. (For example silence won't generate 96kbps of data in a VBR encoder, that would be wasteful). A stereo sound would have to add a lot of data to the S channel, making the file up to twice as large (but usually not that much actually).

The Ogg Vorbis files tend to be very small and good quality, whereas the AAC files are a little bit bigger and sound a bit worse. It's not a major difference, only IE+Safari users get those files, and I doubt many casual gamers would actually notice, so I don't think there's any need to change the way we do it. Again, if you want tight control over how your audio files are compressed, mix and encode them before importing to Construct 2 - if you import .ogg and .m4a files, C2 just copies them in to the project without touching them. It will only encode for you if you import .wav or .flac.

  • Please don't cross-post threads. Closing.

  • The Scirra forums is not the best place to ask programming questions. Can I recommend StackOverflow?

  • Are there any concerns you have in particular about Construct 2? Often there are workarounds or other solutions you may not have heard of.

  • It's a good idea, but browsers simply only store strings in WebStorage. So in the interest of simplicity, instead of building some proprietary incompatible type-system specifically for C2 on top of WebStorage, it just uses strings only as well.
