  • You can use the fill tool with a transparent color to quickly remove solid backgrounds. The best solution, though, is just to use a tool which supports PNG transparency... anything which doesn't must be pretty ancient!

  • I don't think the Safari browser supports point sampling yet, which is annoying - but it should do in future (the standard has been updated to support it).

In the mean time try using directCanvas or CocoonJS, I think both support point sampling.

  • Which platforms are you planning to export to? Often the way it's implemented is different for each one.

  • It's possible to export everything to a single HTML file using embedded data URIs for all the images and files, but I really don't think it's a good idea. It will probably make the load performance terrible: data URIs are bigger than a binary file, there will be no loading progress (just downloading a single humungous HTML file), and some mobile devices might even freeze or run out of memory since HTML isn't designed to be so large. Also I do know that the Chrome Web Store disallows scripts in the same HTML page (they have to be separate .js files), so it could cause further problems there.

TBH I don't think it would help protect your resources or make sitelocking any more secure - Chrome's developer tools can still get around that, and it's best to rely on existing features like Closure Compiler obfuscation on export.

  • Closing due to a server misconfiguration rather than Construct 2 bug.

  • Your example works fine in r110.2 here with Chrome. Closing unless you can provide more information on how to reproduce the problem.

  • You need to enter your App ID in the Facebook object's properties, otherwise the object will not load the Facebook API (since Facebook requires the App ID to even connect).

  • Yeah, it would be handy if it did the meta tags for you... I'll see if I can sort that out for a future build.

  • Fonts are automatically exported to the right folder in CocoonJS, I think it's just the odd third party plugin that would need this.

  • Please see how to report bugs. It is extremely difficult to test projects like this to prove it is not a mistake in the events, and that the bug really is in C2. Please reproduce the issue in a new project using minimal events and objects and re-post the report. If you cannot do that, it does suggest the problem is in your events and you are responsible for exhausting device memory (or some other issue). Especially in the 'Hardcoding' event sheet there are a lot of events which appear to run every tick and include an action to play audio. Closing for now

  • rexrainbow - if you call createInstance, it will create the other objects in the container, but not pick them. You can't use applySolToContainer after createInstance, since the instance isn't really created until the next top-level event which breaks applySolToContainer. In that case, just copy the code from System's 'Create Object' (if picking works the same way and you just want to pick that one instance).

  • WebStorage still works in Awesomium.

  • rexrainbow - not quite, applySolToContainer() supports all the objects in the SOL whereas system's 'Create object' is setting each SOL to contain a single instance there. I forgot I changed that in a recent build to fix a bug: 'Spawn' and 'Create' specifically have to work around the fact the created instance isn't really created until the next top-level event, so they manually do similar work to what applySolToContainer does. Everywhere else applySolToContainer should be fine though.

  • I read Ejecta doesn't support patterns yet, which is a blocker (Tiled Background won't work without it). It also doesn't support C2's memory management for large projects. However if it supported WebGL it'd use a different renderer anyway which supports both.

If it already supports AJAX and Game Center, and it gets a working WebGL, then it's a pretty interesting option. TBH I'm getting a little frustrated by slow progress from appMobi and Ludei on all three of those, so adding optional support for Ejecta would be nice.

It looks like it also has WebStorage and decent Audio support, but it's still missing something that could be used to make letterbox mode, it strangely seems to be missing the deviceorientation event, and it looks like it ought to have support for suspend and resume events which it doesn't say it does.

    Still, potentially promising...

  • rexrainbow - sorry I missed this thread (you typo'd my name so the forum didn't alert me)

Your proposed solution is correct, if you modify the SOL for an object, calling objtype.applySolToContainer() will set the corresponding SOLs in the container to have picked the instances corresponding to objtype. However, it's not particularly fast and should only be used in one-off places, like system's Create Object. If it's performance sensitive it gets a lot more complicated, but hopefully that call is enough for all your cases.
