  • I'm not too keen on adding platform specific things to all exporter outputs. I also really want to keep the export totally spartan, since an image on the HTML page itself will take up a bit more memory, not be subject to layout-by-layout texture management, and so on. If you really want this, can't you just edit it in after export?

  • If you ever think it's a bug, make a new project and try to reproduce it.

    If I make a new project, add two physics objects with different properties, then duplicate the layout, the objects on the duplicated layout preserve their same properties. So it looks like it's working fine. Perhaps there are some specific circumstances it doesn't work, but you need to be able to reproduce it in a new project so we know whether it's really a bug or not, and we can't generally fix bugs without that either.

  • 1) Email us and we can arrange a pay-the-difference upgrade, but only if you buy direct from us. If you buy from Steam we don't have an upgrade process yet so we'd need to figure out something new.

    2) See the guide How to export to CocoonJS to learn more about how it works. Ludei haven't yet announced any official pricing, but hopefully there will be some kind of free option.

    3) You can extend Construct 2 with Javascript using the Javascript SDK

    4) Did you try searching the Tutorials section?

  • You can opt-in to beta updates on Steam (right-click Construct 2 in the software library and select Properties). Note due to a bug in Steam you have to also have the free edition installed and set to use beta updates as well.

  • Isn't that what "true" fullscreen is anyway? Just a fullscreen size window? Native engines might boost the process priority and change the monitor resolution, but they still would do that.

    Jase00 - that's a perfectly typical case where you should be using Tiled Background! One tiled background can often render 30x faster than a grid of 30 sprites. See performance tips. Not only that but tiled backgrounds are much better at rendering seamlessly. If you still want to line up sprites, pretty much the only way to get it seamless is to use Point sampling and letterbox integer fullscreen mode.

  • It's on our todo list, but we're a small team and we have a lot of feature requests, so we can't give an ETA for things like this. In the mean time you can probably work around it using sprites to mark "waypoints", and getting objects to move between them.

  • We probably won't add this. The performance overhead of running a trigger is fairly small, but variables are used and changed so much in projects I'm sure a feature like this would drag down performance. And the workaround is simple: either use a static local variable, e.g.

    [Static local number OldValue = 0]

    + Myvalue != OldValue

    -> Set OldValue to MyValue

    -> Do something else

    Or instead of setting the variable directly, call a function, which does additional work as well as setting the variable.

  • I think the problem is CocoonJS doesn't support XML parsing, which is the format of the Spriter files.

  • Closing, these are new features in the latest beta (r125). We'll be updating the stable release shortly with the new features.

  • Use the Keyboard object and the Browser object.

  • Jase00 - posting a .capx would help, as well as telling us which renderer is in use when you see seams and when you don't. Typically, setting pixel rounding on, point sampling, and letterbox integer scale fullscreen is a pretty robust way to avoid seams.

  • It worked first time on an iPad 2 with iOS 6.1.2, but the second time I could see a problem. However it went away if I just swiped in the main area, no need to touch the address bar. It's very likely an iOS bug rather than a C2 bug though, since it works everywhere else apart from iOS.

    Does it work if you put a text object on both apps which is set to tickcount every tick? This will force it to redraw every frame (whereas normally if nothing happens it won't redraw) and could be a workaround.

  • Thanks, good find - should be fixed for the next beta.

  • OK, this should be fixed for the next build.

  • We ask Windows 8 to re-open the settings when you click that button, but nothing happens. Not sure why it's not working. thehen, any ideas?
