  • It would be best to direct questions about CocoonJS to Ludei.

  • I think it's extremely unlikely you'll really have 500 swords. That's a totally ridiculous number! Even if you did, your sword graphic is pretty small. 500 sprites at 37x11 (be sure to crop them all) is less than one megabyte decompressed, and well under that compressed. So it probably won't be a problem even if you made 2000 swords. Construct can handle that just fine with the images in the project itself. Don't come up with complicated optimisations if there's no need - it's a waste of time.

  • I just pulled out my XBox 360 controller and it worked right away with both Chrome and Firefox. How exactly are you trying to use it?

  • In computer graphics, you pretty much only get these two options. You can try drawing the source image at different sizes to see how it's affected by scaling. But most games either avoid high-contrast graphics which makes that effect obvious, or use a limited range of scaling that prevents the effect becoming obvious. Or you can just choose one of the sampling methods and use it anyway.

  • Just use an image editor to erase the background to transparency. The built-in editor can probably do it too.

  • Which browser are you using? If you try different ones is the performance better?

The change you have made is so trivial it would probably have zero effect on the framerate.

  • It works for me. Can you provide more detailed steps about exactly what you are doing?

Please also remember to include the exact text of any error messages that appear. In this case you refer to "crashes", which should include some information about the problem in error messages, but since I can't reproduce the problem I don't know what that information is.

Note you use save and load inefficiently. 'A is down' is true every tick, so you're saving 60 times a second while the A key is down, and similarly loading 60 times a second while the D key is down. You should replace them with 'On key pressed' triggers.

  • We can't do anything about this with a report like this. We need to know exactly how the project got corrupted. These days it's more common that users accidentally delete files, the storage hardware is failing, or some synchronisation/source control was mishandled. Unless you can categorically rule these out and provide the steps that caused C2 to corrupt a project, this can't be investigated further.

Note C2 has built-in backup features.

  • It looks like you were hit by a bug that only existed in r124. In r125 it was fixed ("Cloning or copy/pasting various project elements could create things which did not work properly with save/load or the Persist behavior" - and I should have included, it also affected continuous preview, since that's based off save/load). So presumably you have cloned or copy/pasted some objects using r124 and the objects don't work with saving any more. Sorry, this is a risk of using beta releases. It shouldn't happen any more with r125+. (I can't reproduce rebuilding your example from scratch in r125, because it's already solved.)

It's possible to work around by editing the project XML directly:

    • save as a project folder
    • open the .caproj in a text editor
    • find all <object-type ...> tags
    • make sure all their "sid" values are unique. In this case both "Player" and "PlayerShadow" have a sid of 0 (I guess you cloned the player for the shadow?). If you change the "PlayerShadow" sid to 1, it should then work.

I'm going to have to close this since we already fixed the bug. Sorry for the trouble :-\</p>

  • You should not load entire animations like that. Why not just add the images to the object's animations?

  • There's also Google Drive.

  • It's a good idea, but I don't think it's really necessary right now. The version field is not displayed anywhere. You can just use an incrementing number like C2 release numbers.

  • Contact us at licensehelpvul@scirra.com if you still have trouble.

  • If you run from disk, didn't an error message pop up saying you can't run projects from disk and that you need to upload it first?

You can run projects from disk using the node-webkit exporter, but the HTML5 export requires a server.
