  • Hello,

I am a professional game developer for Magic Beans studio.

    I make 3d and 2d games.

  • Good day!

My name is "Rhindon"... I'm an aspiring game developer with minor (but successful) experience writing game programs for the TI-83 graphing calculator.

I have SEVERAL game ideas I hope to develop for the Android phones, and later will branch out onto other platforms. All of my games I hope to infuse with some kind of Christian theme or tone (while not overt, the concept will be a present influence, so you will not likely see specific references to the Bible, etc). It's my goal to provide gamers with an experience that they can take with them even after they have put the game down...something that adds significance, meaning, and even guidance to how they live their lives, and more! (A tall order for a video game, no doubt.)

On top of that, I want to make games that are innovative and require the player to think and plan the best way to proceed.

Personally, I love to study and write on Christian/Biblical topics; I'm a teacher at heart, if not in profession. Of course, I'm a gamer and an avid fan of Nintendo.

Singing, roller skating, bowling, and riding bike trails are other points of interest to me.

Then there are children. I am fascinated by how they see the world as they are learning and growing. I love watching their personalities emerge and are expressed. So much can be learned from kids. They are a delight to my heart whenever they are around.

    That's me! <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hello Everyone,

I am pretty new here and have just purchased Construct 2 Personal edition. My background is mainly .Net development focused on ASP.NET, SharePoint and Silverlight with a bit of XNA as well. I left Microsoft about a year ago after working there as a senior engineer for 6 years. Now I work as a Senior SharePoint Operations Engineer at a Law Firm in Mountain View, CA (Silicon Valley). I have always been a gamer with my own dreams of writing games and though I started working on my own games in Flash, XNA and Silverlight in the past I never really buckled down and put anything out. I was also trained by Macromedia (before adobe bought them) as a Flash developer and trained the web developers at AOL on flash back when they did their big rebranding effort back in the early 2000's. So I have been around a bit in the industry and worked with many technologies, I am very excited to start working on HTML5 games as well.

I have decided there is not better time than the present and with the full support of my wife and kids, have started working in earnest during my free time on getting my games out of my head and onto the screen... any screen. My plans are to create games for mobile devices as well as PC's. I have been looking at various tools out there for awhile and decided to go with Construct 2 as I love the interface and user friendliness of it. My only concern currently is performance issues compared to writing native apps, but I guess I will find out how that goes when I get there. Currently I am registered for publishing to the Windows 8 and Windows Phone apps stores and will most likely join the iOS developer ranks as well in order to get my games on as many platforms as possible.

While I am not new to game design, I am new to Construct and HTML5/JavaScript. So you may see me asking questions here and there but I will also do my best to answer any questions I see posted as well. Though I may be new to the Scirra tools, my previous development experience seems to carry over pretty well when figuring out how to do things in Construct 2.

Overall I am very glad and excited to be here and finally working actively towards my goals of publishing my own games. I am also very glad to find this great community of fellow game designers and can't wait to get to know you all and help out where I can. This is a great way to start a new year!

ON a side note, you can also find me online in the following places:

    Xbox Live: BluePhaze 24x7

    Facebook: sidewinder24x7

I also write for egmnow/digital noob, I can't post links yet as I have just joined the site here and haven't posted my 500th post yet.

I also used to run the SideWinder Gaming Blog at Microsoft and was the Community Manager for Gaming on the Microsoft Hardware blog prior to leaving Microsoft.

    Glad to meet you all!

  • Hello, my name is Manley. Over the last few years, I've been dabbling in making games with BlitzMax, GameMaker, and Stencyl. Now, I hope to create some fun games using Construct 2. So far, I really like Construct 2's simple and intuitive user interface. Most of my questions have been answered in the forum or tutorials, so great job to everyone who adds to the knowledge base.

Soon I'll post somethin' about it :)

  • Hi! I'm Evan. I've been playing video games since I was little and I always wanted to make my own game, but never felt this dream was ever in reach until I discovered Construct 2 some months ago. I am developing and have my sights set on my friend and I completing the development of our first game. I want to thank Scirra for making this amazing engine and I hope to meet some of you great devs here on the forums. :)

  • Hey, I'm Lindsay, one of the Microsoft Technical Evangelists here to help you get your C2 games Windows 8 and Windows Phone ready. Let me know how I can help!

  • Hi. I woke up this year and realized that my career path wasn't fulfilling me anymore. So I've decided to follow my heart and take a stab at game development.

I started with absolutely no knowledge (just a little bit of web programming experience) and I'm slowly working my way forward. I've been teaching myself Objective-C, but that is a long a very slow process, and I was itching to get to produce some actual games. So I looked into other game developing platforms. I started out in GameSalad, but soon found that lacking.

And that's when I came across Construct 2. This program looks awesome. I think it's a perfect blend of simplicity, yet allows you to access amazing depth. Really good work by the programmers. I'm super excited to begin producing games with it.

I have a blog (ftauzero.blogspot.ca) where I'll be documenting my evolution as a game designer, and website, facebook, and twitter will be following shortly.

Just wanted to introduce myself, and thank everyone in advance, as I'm sure this forum will be an endless source of information and answer countless questions that I'm going to come across as I develop games.

    Thanks!!!
