The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hi,

I've worked in the IT industry for a number of years here in the UK, currently with various Oracle products and Delphi development. I'm learning Java (slowly) and have wanted to develop "a game" for a long time. Construct 2 looks like the easiest way to break into games development and so I'm going to work through the tutorials over the next couple of weeks.

    Cheers,

    Leaston

  • Hello!

I'm a technician and gamer who is beginning to make his own games. I've tried other systems in the past, but when yesterday discovered Construct 2, I decided that this is "the software".

So I'm here, studying your tutorials and taking a brief time to register and introducing myself.

    Good work guys.

  • I am a Graduate student at Computer Science in Game Development at University of Southern California. I love to design games and I love to become a Game Designer in the future. I am not good at art work, such as 3D model and animation but a game needs them.

  • Hello, I'm Emanuel and I'm an art student from Puerto Rico.

I found construct thanks to a friend from the university and I'm currently trying my best to figure it out so I can complete a platformer called "Polizn".

    Here's a WIP Screenshot:

  • Hello!

Im a professional game developer, and I have recently getting my hands dirty in the HTML5 world. Earlier Ive worked a lot with 3D webbrowser based games, but its rather frustrating, since you need to have custom plugins, and its hard to get users to trust, that they need to install this plugin, in order to play.

So now Im getting more and more into both HTML5 and WebGL, and I found that Construct is a good program to make nice 2D applications/games.

Im doing my own HTML5 "engine" as well, so I can switch between the two depending on what I want to do, which is really nice!

Sofar I am very impressed with the Construct program, and I am certainly gonna use it as much as I can!

  • Hi, I am Chris... pixelpusher, vectorbender and quadturner for a long, long time... I became interested in Game making since i took a "BASIC" programing class in high school.

I ran it to its limits!!! I made a fully functioning space ship game using only keyborad characters! the space ship looked like this and blinked dif colors on a black screen....   <++++> and alternated this

    Any way...

high school lead to girls and life and Jobs and I left my long time passion behind.

always wanted to get back into it, now that I am married and settled down. ;).. I start building "template" based websites about a year ago rekindling the flame of computer technology. messed around with "Visual Basic" for a while a few months ago... but couldnt get what i wanted out of it.

I found a comment from "Emanuele Feronato" on a forum one day and stared following on facebook. verry good stuff guys here is the link.

  • So, I don't usually state my real name on an open forum but since this is an Official introduction, I'm Karis.

I purchased Construct to make games for people that are ill and undergoing treatment that requires them to be immobile because they are hooked up to machines for many hours each week. I wanted to give them something to look forward to while undergoing life saving treatments; to take their minds off their worries, if just for a little while. I myself, have chronic kidney disease and sometimes the sheer number of hours spent receiving medical care or waiting at the doctor's office can seem unending. I wanted to make a difference for people in similar situations as I.

As of late, my condition seems to have finally caught up with me and even though I still have plans to make more games, I have not had as much time to learn as I would like as I have more pressing matters to attend to. I want to post questions to help expedite my game making skills but sometimes think that my questions may seem silly or I might end up asking too many questions, so I find myself just lurking on the forum or attempting to learn with the tutorials that are available.

So, that's it in a nutshell. I would like to thank Ashley, Tom and Kyatric for all the help with my questions thus far. And to those of you who I did not mention, that offered help, my thanks to you as well.

On a brighter note, I love all the badge incentives! Such a great idea and lots of fun! Thanks! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
