Construct 3 any news?

From the Asset Store
Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!

Does it have some hidden flaws or why is it so unpopular compared to the other 3D game engines on the market?

At least it's the first time, that I hear about this game engine.

I have no idea. You might find some information about that in their forums: http://www.ambiera.com/forum.php

In my opinion it's quite obvious that it will be 3D was not only is it called construct 3

It's called Construct 3 because it's the follow up version after Construct 2 -- that's simple counting, not a reference to three dimensions, and no, it isn't at all misleading for that title to not be 3d.

We were already told it will be the same runtime engine with a new editor, so unless plans have changed it will definitely still be 2d.

In my opinion it's quite obvious that it will be 3D was not only is it called construct 3 (it would be misleading otherwise)

Bottom line- the name would be misleading and the engine would open up a whole new audience.

By that reasoning for Construct 4 Ashley would need to invent time travel, the 4th dimension.

    Construct Classic

    Construct 2

    Construct 3

    Construct 4

    Etc....

Where did common sense go? How does saying Construct 3 = Construct 3D?

I just thought it might be 3D as there aren't any real non coding 3D game engines, it really doesn't matter either way( I would personally prefer it to be 2d). The bit about the name was a bit far fetched on second thought, but it could make sense either way.

Ps jbadams I hadn't realised what was meant by the cross platform runtime I'm more of an artist and game designer than a programmer (which is why I use Construct2)

I agree; it would be great to have this kind of event system in a 3D engine, but it won't be with Construct unfortunately. Just give me a dark theme for C3 and I'll be very happy.

It would be very cool but I'm not that keen on 3D engines as it's very hard to make good looking 3D assets

I started working in the 3D industry back in 2006, so I can make 3D assets with no problem. It's the programming that I have a problem with!

I am wondering mainly if there will be expansions upon the multiplayer system, and if there will be Steam and Newgrounds support.

Fantastic resources. That Steam one looks really promising! I'll give it a try once the time comes, thanks!

Not really sure what far-too-early software announcements do good for a product anyways?

A good and easy improvement for C3 would be to sign the words you have seached on the events.
