Construct 2 - most wanted

From the Asset Store
Simple yet very life-like rag doll made with Physics!
  • Import and export, so I can copy my lovely modularized event sheets between applications!

  • This is what I'd want to see:

    1. Better and more flexible save file feature.

I mean, I find the current save file feature to be buggy. I haven't really tested it in 0.92 though.

  • MrMiller, I believe that option is already there. Right click your layout and select "Clone Layout". Should do the trick.

Yes I know, but It doesn't copy the events automatically. But the real issue is that certain code seems to break upon duplication, so even when you copy the code exactly to the duplicated layout it tends not to all work properly. According to others it tends to be the global variable that breaks, that's been my experience with it as well.

  • I'm looking forward to use (in either Construct 1 or 2):

    • multiplayer over Internet
    • multiplatform (android)
    • if possible, possibility to use it on playstation network/xbox live
  • Support for Linux, if you have to choose then the most popular being Ubuntu.

So some sort of OpenGL runtime is a must i'm guessing.

  • The ability for people to be able to use VS Express with it.

  • The ability to use vector images.

  • [quote:2d70v5k4]The ability for people to be able to use VS Express with it.

You can currently use VS Express and build all the plugins and the runtime with some minimal tweaks.

  • Vectors, universal game pad support, and plug-ins written in C# or Java. Especially vectors, I didn't foresee this limitation being a problem, but it may force me to use Game Maker or SFML.

    Sweet, good to know!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

you mean vector graphics or something? well you can sort of get the modifiable polygon effect with distort maps

Some better tools for manipulating the maps would be nice.

  • hmm, what do you mean?

  • I'd like resolution independence, please >_<

I mean auto adjust for aspect ratio, zoom, black bars and auto coordinate system adjustment.

EDIT: As currently this is a major pain, specially with stuff like the wrap behavior and others, you'll have to adjust MANY parameters for any resolution change. You might have to mess with every single motion parameter.

Oh and I wish the Custom Movement plugin was framerate independent, but that's for another thread

  • Ability to edit Particles/Plasma and other realtime Effects which need a lot of tweeking in realtime, without the need to run the layout. This one would be a big time saver.
