  • x goes from left to right.

y goes from up to down.

Knowing that you can guess that if the players y is greater than the trees, then the player is in front of it.

  • A lot of games have minor imperfections, we as players disregard them because we expect them, and/ or we just don't care. Game play has always been the main.

So, with that being said, you don't go to war with what you want, you go with what you have. Set pixel rounding to on, and sampling to point, and make the game.

  • I tend to think its because of sub-pixel placement.

  • Yes.

I guess I need to start using joke tags, or just stop trying to be funny.

  • Nah, its for what CraftedDeveloper said. Its obviously the ipad.

Honestly I like their products, their policies... not so much.

  • All browsers on Ios are made out of Safari, so they are pretty much the same. Apple doesn't allow competition on its products.

  • Lol

    Free color!

    I like that.

  • Well in my experience there are basically two ways to set things up.

First the database way with rows,/colums, or x/y.

Second is a list where information is stored like a stack, in no particular order, other than when it is created.

Both of those can be done with the Array object, but it would suffer from the conversion of strings to numbers.

  • I remember Arsonide wanting to do something like this on CC. He even made a few plugs to simulate a universe.

To be honest it was a bit much to expect even in CC. Planning events that happen beyond the viewport is just very complicated.

I guess the question is what kind of database do you need beyond an xy locator with a single storage space at that location?

  • There are really no limitations except those of javascript, and html.

Above where it says Manual there's the sdk documentation https://www.scirra.com/manual/15/sdk

As far as your detection thing it can done via events using a little system knowledge of "for each", and distance(), or if you must have a behavior the Line of Sight behavior will do the same. Might check that out.
