  • True, and you could also do repeating patterns.

  • Or "crud my parents were too cheap to even get Duplo's".

  • Multiple C2 elements on the same page would probably have a ton of issues.

  • Just need to figure out what other elements it can be used for, besides a box.

Then even as a box it might be somewhat limited, can't move it... at least not easily.

Would probably need quite a bit in events, especially for an animation. Not sure if that can be standardised, unless you copy events from a example capx.

  • Anybody thought about doing interfaces etc using the tilemap object?

Its got built in box construction at least, and might even lend itself to standardising gui development via spritesheets.

  • Not sure what it is then, unless its something Spriter specific.

    I guess make a bug report/capx.

Maybe we should call them bugx.

  • As far as I know there is no behavior, or setting that makes object share z. Then again no two objects can have the same exact same z index anyway.

You can however set an object to move to another object z wise in events.

  • Maybe have it default to whatever layer 0 is.

  • If you think that a tool is the key to a career then good luck.

Might want to start cozying up to the game journalists, apparently thats a industry standard as well.

  • Um yeah, I call bs on the Unity thing. Tools have little to do with accomplishing your goals. The only things that are absolutely necessary are skill, and drive.

Take Spelunky for example, Gamemaker sucked, especially back then, and yet Derek Yu was able to knock one out of the park.

  • It has to be open ended, otherwise you would not be able to make events that reference an object which may not exist yet.

If I were to make an event that said every x seconds sprite set y to self.y+1, as it is now it wouldn't do anything until one existed.

Error reporting really wouldn't add to ease of use in the long run, as you would have to have some silly event that asks, hey sprite do you exist?

But the kicker is you couldn't do that either because you want to make it so that you can't reference a nonexistent object.

  • Try removing those objects from the layout.
