  • "Your browser does not appear to support HTML5. Try upgrading your browser to the latest version" on IE9.

    IE9 supports HTML5, of course. This happens because this tag is missing from the page's HTML:

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=IE8" />

    If that tag is not present, and IE by some voodoo decides to render the page in an old documents mode (e.g. it decides to pretend to be IE8), lo and behold, you have no canvas. Don't forget that tag!

    Works here in IE9, but I'd advise when styling the page yourself, don't remove any head tags from the exported HTML.

  • I fixed a bug with float values for array indices. However, in your project, the problem somehow seems to be that there are no instances of the Map array object. I suppose you deleted the layout you originally added the array to, but didn't delete the object type. Since it has no instances it essentially doesn't exist so you'll always get 0 for all the expressions on the object.

    I'm not sure how to fix this! It seems to be an oversight in the editor. I'll see what I can do.

  • Can you post your .capx file?

  • Can you provide your .capx file?

  • When the game stops, press Control+Shift+J. Does Firefox report any errors?

  • The speed of HTML5 games right now is far more to do with your browser and its version than how good your computer is.

    Firefox 7, Chrome 14 and Internet Explorer 9 all run HTML5 games excellently, and are getting even better. Older browsers are much slower, even on good computers!

    So check your browser is up to date! If you're at work or a school and you're not allowed to update the browser, you can install Chrome and Firefox on non-admin accounts. So try installing a different one.

  • Thanks for collecting it together! I'll sticky this thread until we have a better way of organising plugins, we do want to improve this in future.

  • That's odd - you're right, Opera seems choppier with the Construct 2 version.

    However, in all other browsers, the C2 one runs a lot smoother than the GM one for me.

    I'm not sure why either happens - both javascript engines appear to use the same mechanism to draw the screen. So I'm not even sure if it's a problem with Opera - even if we changed it we might end up with the other browsers not displaying so smoothly. Opera have about a 2% market share so I'm tempted to leave it - the big three (IE, Firefox and Chrome) seem to run it just fine...

  • Great work, very nicely animated and beautiful artwork! Done a well-deserved tweet and facebook mention <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Opens and runs just fine in r61 here! Are you still having an issue with that project?

  • Which browser are you using? Seems to work OK here.
