  • What detectors? Step into the world of Overlapping at Offset, my friend.

But.... but... I like my detectorers

I will miss you little guys *waves*

    BAAAWWWWWW!

  • You can do this already, but it takes a buttload of detectors and other messy stuff. It would be a nice feature to have if it was possible to implement easily enough.

  • This looks awesome as hell. I loved Mega Man 2... I hope he finishes it... I'm so there

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Cheers Sagal, but the artwork is pretty much all done apart from a few small things that are half complete. If anyone wants to help, I was hoping it would be more along the lines of "eventing" and some engine mechanics when it comes to the weapons implementation.

And Flame, that's pretty cool I like the pod deployment method. It's pretty similar to one of newts weapons though, so I might see about a way of combining the ideas into one.

  • How many 12v rails does the PSU have? Positive rails only... the negative rail doesn't count. How many amps are on each rail?

If your PSU has less than 26-28 amps in total across the rails added up, then there is your problem... the GPU is trying to draw more amps than the PSU can supply, and it will cause your PSU to burn out in a short amount of time.

500W is probably enough, though for a 9800GT I would have gone at least 650W. I have a 1000W Antec in my machine (Quad rail total 100amp) and that's struggling at times with my GTX280's. Watts are really never a good indication of a power supply's true output though... it all comes down to the amps.

There should be a sticker or printing on the side of the PSU that will tell you how many 12v rails and how many amps per rail.

    *EDIT*

Nevermind I just googled your PSU... you have two 12v rails with 17a each... it should be fine. Usually the noise you are hearing is caused from overloading the PSU. It could also have a minor fault in it.

I suggest to phone the store you bought it from, and ask them what they think... I would be inclined to try and get an exchange on it just in case, because if it does have a minor fault and it blows up... it might damage other parts of your computer that will not be covered under the PSU warranty.

  • What sound card do you have?

What operating system are you using?

What, if any, other sound related applications are running on your computer at startup (IE Audiorack AC97, or Realtek sound devices)?

  • I laughed at this whole thread. Awesome.

  • Psh, this game is a piece of art

I liked the overall design and control. Well made!

    Thanks mate

Still a long way to go yet though... :/

I keep procrastinating about progressing on the engine... I'm getting to that point where some help would be good, but everyone is just too busy. I'll just have to get there at my own pace.

Graphics still need work, but for now there are some pretty acceptable place-holders.

  • Additions are nice... pity the grappling arm now seems broken.

Left mouse makes a puff of smoke/steam... and right mouse makes the claw open... can't shoot any more though

  • Wow that's pretty cool, I didn't realise the mesh feature addition was quite like that :O

It's a little weird how the shadow doesn't shrink or get bigger based on the mesh height/depth... I guess it doesn't automatically compensate for that. I wonder how you could do it though? Would be rather tricky I would imagine.

Nicely done though for a simple tech demo.

  • What exactly are you going to rotate around? A flat 2D object?

Construct is a 2D application... It does not do 3D. I really wish people would stop asking how to do 3D this and 3D that with Construct.

    -_-*

  • Do what the topic says

  • You guys do realise you can host pictures from dropbox as well as files right? Dropbox is the "one host for everything" solution. Host your files, and even linked images... no hassle (note my signature link as well as other pictures I may link to).

Also, newt... the "print screen" button works wonders for making screenshots

  • thanks for the tips. it was very helpfull.

I highly recommend you read THIS before asking more questions.
