  • I tried but touch interface is way to inconvinient for this kind of work. It's ok for balancing, changing some vars, maybe a bit of level design, but doing actual logic is so slow I couldn't get into it. However with additional mouse and keyboard it will be just like on pc, which is really awesome. Not a lot of engines offer such mobility

  • Tilemap has grid X/Y and target X/Y

  • Tilemaps will give you times more performance in your case. Optimzinig the rendering of repeated patterns is their exact purpose

  • Use tiles if:

    Your maps have a lot of repeating patterns.

    Don't use them if:

    Your maps consist of large unique images.

  • I can say for sure that the game you're describing will be super easy to make in Construct. Especially if you already have a coding expirience. I believe that after getting familiar with the interface and such you'll be able to get a working prototype in an evening or two

  • oosyrag Made a great point. You don't have to worry about what game engine your students end up sticking with as long as they learn their lessons with Construct. I picked up Unity recently and boy am I happy I have my expirience with Construct. So many things are familiar and work exactly like I expect them to

  • You might want to try EasyStar.js plugin. It should be somewhere around this forum. I'm currently using it for my project and it's amazing. Pretty fast too

  • We need to see your issue somehow. Otherwise we can't help

  • save your project as a single file and upload it instead of images

  • Have you tried opening autosaves or backups? By default Construct should save them in the same folder your project is

  • You do not have permission to view this post

  • You can post a link to dropbox. Also make sure to remove any third party plugins from your project. Otherwise we won't be able to open it

  • Noone knows what to fix and what's the problem. If you could post a simplified c3p version of your issue, I'm sure the problem would be solved in no time
