  Can't reproduce, works here - also it's such a basic feature that I'm sure we'd have heard from other users if the problem really was in C2, so I suspect it's an issue specific to your system. I'd still suspect a graphics driver bug even if they're up to date, since either the latest driver is not available or the latest one is still broken. If you have a dual-GPU system make sure both drivers are up-to-date, and double check directly from the graphics card manufacturer for the latest driver (e.g. from nVidia website for nVidia graphics).

  Closing as won't fix: this is a very difficult problem, since the way Platform handles jump-thrus depends on the duration it's overlapping the same object. The yellow platforms are separate objects so it works correctly, but the tilemap is all one big object, so when it falls through it is always overlapping the object and therefore it treats it like falling through the same object.

  Thick jump-through objects don't tend to work well for this reason. As a workaround, use thin jump-thrus along just the top part of the platforms/tiles. Alternatively make the player shorter.

  Can't reproduce: I opened a random sample file like your steps say, and it worked fine. However I don't know what you mean by "Expand or darker layout".

  Most of the time, a crash when opening a layout is caused by buggy graphics drivers. Please check your drivers are up to date. You posted a picture of your OpenGL information, but that does not indicate whether the latest drivers are actually installed.

  You could also try testing with r193 since r192 is not the latest beta any more.

  I would strongly recommend you do not compose layouts from large images. It is extremely wasteful of memory. See remember not to waste your memory

  Yes, the host of a multiplayer game will keep the game active since they are acting as a server, and if the server suspends then all connected peers will hang too, even if their games are active. This is the one valid exception to the rule. I do not believe there are any other good reasons to use up power and system resources in the background.

  AFAIK AJAX requests to local files work on all platforms (apart from Windows Phone 8.1, but you can work around it using the old-fashioned ActiveX based HTTP request). However they can complete with a status code of 0 as opposed to 200, which kind of makes sense given there wasn't actually a HTTP response. Some code snippets assume that any response other than 2xx is a failure, so make sure your code accepts 0 as success.

  Things can go wrong, either by making mistakes or software failure. Keep your work safe with Construct 2's backup options and you should never lose weeks of work even in extreme cases like disk failure, fire, floods or theft. This all does happen and you should have already been keeping backups for any important work. I'm sorry if you had to learn this the hard way.

  If there is a problem with Construct 2 then obviously we want to fix it, but it's almost impossible for us to do anything about it without a report to the Bugs forum following all the guidelines. AFAIK, most users are using the feature with no issues.
