  Look at the other plugins in the install directory to see what they do. They draw something at their X and Y co-ordinate, or inside their bounding quad. Note in the C2 engine plugins are not allowed to draw outside their bounding quad.

  this.inst refers to the javascript object representing an object in the Construct 2 engine. It doesn't make any sense at all to pass it to jQuery. You probably meant to pass something else.

  The maths behind this is pretty complicated. The turret behavior can track linearly moving objects, but it doesn't take in to account anything other than a linearly moving bullet with no acceleration or gravity.

  I would point out it should not be necessary to merge projects if you work with source control tools like SVN. These are free, professional grade tools that merge as you work, as well as providing a host of really unmissable features (rollback, revision logs, diffs etc.) You really shouldn't be working on two separate .capx files and then try to merge them later; source control is vastly superior and the feature set enormously better than anything we're likely to ever add to Construct 2 itself.

  We're a tiny company and always pushed for time. I don't think we should work on anything that is already done very well by other tools (I don't miss any kind of integration for my own work on plugins using Notepad++, and don't ordinary browsers work just fine for previewing?)

  We've discussed optional code regularly on this forum for a long time, and it's not a direction we want to take right now.

  There's no reason a sprite version wouldn't work on all platforms. But at first guess I would say this first spec would be easier, cheaper, perform better, and be simpler to use. I'm not going to change the scope of this job after posting, but I'm not ruling out any other plugins.

  The engine already calls getContext on the canvas, and you cannot call it again. Within the scope of the SDK, you should only draw using the canvas 2D context passed to you in the draw() function, and you must also provide a drawGL() function for the WebGL renderer.

  Hmm... I'll look in to it. I'm also a little worried it will affect overall performance (it might mean sending a color with every sprite, even if they don't use filters), but maybe it can be done efficiently anyway.

  We don't have plans to make a built-in color filter, because it's not supported in canvas2D. Since it's only supported in WebGL, the tint shader is the best way to do it. As with all shaders, it's very inefficient to have large numbers of instances all using shaders - the much more efficient way to do it is apply the effect to a layer, then place all those instances on that layer.

  If you ever suggest a feature, it's best to explain in detail precisely what you want it to do and how you think it should work. For example, presumably 'merge projects' doesn't work by magic, and would require something in the UI somewhere. What were you thinking of specifically?
