Rep is very random...

  • Also forgot to mention, there is currently no rep for badges. This is only temporary. This would explain a loss in rep for a lot of people. Hopefully this will be amended by next week. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone!

  • OMGHAX !

Tom has more rep than me.

Who's that Tom guy anyway ?

  • I really like the revamped rep system for site activity. Looks well-balanced, and encourages community-strengthening activities.

Of course, I'm missing 3,000 rep since this morning =P but hopefully most of that comes back with the badges. Thanks for posting the rep tallies!

  • The rep amounts are not final, so if anyone has suggestions on how to balance it more let me know.

Also can add other ways to obtain rep, but sometimes its technically not possible to add them all in.

  • Tom - thanks, that makes sense. I haven't posted a whole lot yet, so most of the rep I had came form badges.

  • Tom

I dont really mind what rep i have, But it has dropped from 1,700 to 734. Kind of makes it pointless in a way.

  • Spongehammer, like Tom said, you'll get most of that back when the badge Rep is brought back online.

  • I had to skip a release (124) in order to reset my consecutive download counter, but as I just found out by downloading it now, you still get the 25 rep when you go back and fill in the gap. Hopefully the counter stays reset. I guess I'll find out after Release 127 =)

  • I don't know exactly how it's working now, but maybe people shouldn't get rep for releases more than two or three old. (For example, since we're on release 125, 123 and 124 might still be worth rep to download, but as soon as 126 comes out, only 124 and 125 would give rep.)

  • The rep amounts are not final, so if anyone has suggestions on how to balance it more let me know.

What about a feature similar to Yahoo Answers and other like sites? Particularly when a help request is given and the original poster finds one or several replies quite helpful or fully answers the request. Those who reply can also receive a little extra rep (say, just one rep point) by OTHERS who read the post and also find the input helpful.

This, I think, would encourage quality feedback and given even, perhaps, those who just TRY to offer help a chance to garner rewards.

  • Liking forum posts is a good idea definitely, I'll take a look at it.

RandomExile, not getting rep for old versions would be ideal, but it's technically very difficult. I will try and implement it though don't worry. It should work retroactively as well

  • Badge rep is restored. I'm running a recount for everyone which will complete in about ~1 hour.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Got most of my rep back, although I'm still down by about 5-600. Is the current badge rep list correct?

Is anything still in the works to fix the users with crazy rep (like RockmanZero with 156 Dedicated Badges)?

  • Hi,

Badge rep is now implemented, but not described yet (will appear on https://www.scirra.com/me/badges when it's done)

Users who suffered errors and were awarded multiple badges will be fixed at the end of this process.

Your rep as reported now will be about right, might adjust slightly but it's basically there.

  • Ok, sounds good!

I think I spotted a slight error -- License Holder Rep lists the Reward as 250, but the actual rep awarded in the rep column is 100.
