The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • o, who are you?

I am Ben Tibbetts. Since this question also seems to ask, "...and what do you do?", I will add that I am currently employed as a piano teacher, and I enjoy making music, games, art, and some other things.

ow did you find out about Construct?

I was interested in HTML5 gaming, and stumbled on Construct 2.

hat brought you into the seedy underworld of making games?

I had a friend in middle school who got me excited about making a point-and-click adventure game using HTML.

    hat interests you?

    Many things. Life.

here have you been, and where are you headed?

    Regretfully few, hopefully many.

  • Hi every body I am Sandeep and a online gamer. My Favorited online games are Ruenscape, Mech Hero(Browser Based Games) and a long list of flash and Facebook games, though being a non developer, I always wanted to develop my own game, and now i when i came across this tool construct 2 i guess i can full fill my dreams. I have tried developing games in flash with as3 script but was not succesfull as i am unaware of coding but hopefully asap i will introduce my first game to all of you with the help of construct 2, it will be platform based game. That's all for now, i'll update you all as soon as possible with the game.

  • Hi, I'm Krossfire, a 24 year old copywriter. My passion for game design started back in highschool, when I used Game Maker for a couple of years and managed to produce a few titles (in both GM and Visual C++). Although I had a diploma in programming, I've followed a different path in college (marketing & communications).

After college and several years in the PR&Advertising Industry, I've restarted game creation as a hobby. Starchaser Studios (www.starchaserstudios.com), the team which I'm a part of is working on a Unity based title right now. I only hold the title of game designer and game writer, since my programming is a little rusty.

Scirra Construct got my attention when I started needing a tool for prototyping. It has become much more in the last few months, and this is the reason I've joined the forums. Nice to meet you all :)

  • Hello all,

I'm trying out Construct 2 for a very simple game now - a multiplayer version of pong.

I was a gameplay programmer, scripter, level designer, game designer for video game companies in France for a while and worked on PS2, PC, NDS, Wii.

I guess I got tired of the big video games industry and now I'm trying to create more simple games, with a strong link to real life.

Basically video games that you would not play at home but in the street or in an event.

This multiplayer pong is my first attempt in this direction. It is also the chance for me to try building my first custom controller, which is actually much more work than building the game itself.

  • *stands up*

    I'm Maarten,... and I'm a gamedesigner

*crowd applauds and says: "Hi Maarten"*

Anyway I've been programming since I was 10 years old, and I think I even started gaming before that age. Nowadays I'm a Gamedesign&Development student at the HKU in the Netherlands.

I'm working as an intern at Mindgame. This company has been working with an old 'engine' and wanted a replacement. I've been looking around for new engines and ways do develop an easy way for them to create new fun web games.

At home I like to play Minecraft, League of Legens and World of Warcraft with my girlfriend. Still looking for time to play Skyward sword.

My entry for this years GGJ which I made with only a friend of mine (so 2 man group), we got 2nd place: Jammin

    (Unity webplayer required)

  • I think that now its time to introduce myself finally official:

My name is Georgi Todorov and Im from Bulgaria. Im intermediate user with game making but in CC Im full n0ob..... Now Im learning the things. I hope that someday I will make good games with CC. Good luck to everyone!

  • Hi, peace to you all.

My name is Huzairi. I work as Graphic Designer/Artist in Malaysia.

I hope to learn new things here and make my own games in the future.

Construct is awesome, and I'm in love with it!

...currently building a 'menu selection' system for my game...hahaha

  • 'Sup.

I am called Spookeh, and I'm a game designer by hobby. While I wouldn't call myself anything close to a professional, I'm not totally green. I've been toying around with indie game design for about five years now, on and off, so I know a thing or two.

I started game development with Game Maker, something I'm pretty sure a lot of you have heard of, and from there I moved on to RPG Maker, which I have stuck with for several years now. I reside mainly on another indie game forum, HBGames, which is where I discovered a number of new outlets for development, most notably Unity3D and Construct.

I pride myself in my level design, above all my other skills, mostly because it is what I'm best at. My weak point is programming; I can never seem to get a grasp on RGSS, PhP, or anything else other than a very basic amount of Python.

Outside the development world, I'm a seventeen year old who attends a high school in the middle of nowhere. I enjoy gaming and media, and eating. That last one tends to be a bit of a problem, as I'm also a Type I diabetic. I don't mind it, though; it has more or less shaped who I am now.

  • Hey everyone and welcome to the forum :)

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

    Spookeh

You will probably find Construct a lot easier than any of those programming languages. No doubt..

  • Sup all. Just downloaded Construct Classic, if its good I'll get the Construct 2 =P.

So basically same as everyone else here; a gamer, I'm 24, interested in learning/designing, blah blah blah (boring stuff). Me and the guys at college wanna try making a game so were going try this engine out and see how well it goes, lol.

  • Oh, just realized I never introduce myself (how rude)

    +Scirra: Is Registered

    • > System:      Wait 3 years and 3 months

  • Hello world! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

My pseudo-name is Zephlon Arphanosh. I mostly do Web Development, and I have a website called ZefurNet (which is the middle of a hiatus right now). I have been looking for an HTML5 game editor for a while and I am very glad I found Construct 2.

  • I definitively did NOT find this Thread because i got addicted to get all these damn batches ! Errr..

Anyhow my name is Oliver, and i am kinda a contradictory person.. which in itself makes no sense !

    I'm 20.

I'm from Germany but have lived the last 9 years in Denmark, so i dunno if i'm a German or Dane.

I love philosophy, and critically thinking in general. And use a lot of time in discussions with people about everything.

I got into gaming fairly late.. my parents dint buy me a GameBoy Color until i was 9 (I still got it !)

But i played on consoles at friends before that of course !

All started for me with the NES Super Mario and some Space Style Racing game.

I love PS1 and PS2 ! And the Xbox but only for one game HALO ! The original ! Damn that game blew me away when i first played it! Did it in Co-Op so cool so cool !

Some all time Favorites: <-(There are many, here are some)

    --------------------------------

    Crash Bandicoot

    Spyro

    Tekken

    Halo

    Killzone 2

    Warcraft 3 (DotA)

    AoE2

    CS 1.6

    NFS U2

    Anything with Yoshi <img src="smileys/smiley10.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Lego Racers

    GTA Vice City

    Half Life

    Duke Nukem

Heroes of Might & Magic 3

    -------------------------------

I always wanted to create games, but wasn't motivated enough to do it and hated programming.

Some months ago i started playing on a WoW private server (Vanilla) and wanted to create a Bot for it. I Started programming in AutoIT and got fairly Good at it after about a week. I then realised that i now liked programming <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle"> The challenge in thinking of ways to figure things out is what really attracted me to it.

I got bored of making the WoW bot (After i got banned for using it LOL :D)

And though Hey.. Let's make a Game !

I downloaded a few engines, Not only 2D but also stuff like Unity 3D and the UDK.. But i just dint want to start with all that sh*t now because i am moving soon and starting my Bachelor on AsiaStudies -Indonesia. (I don't necessarily see myself having any use of this, but in Denmark you get Money for studying. So 3 of my Friends and I are going to Move in together and it's gonna Rock!)

So i found a Blog about Engines to Use and it listed this one :D Or well the Classic one anyway <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I hope to create some cool games, i got tons of ideas and fairly good Artsy skills.

Another project i am working on is my Competitive Gaming Website where people can play cs 1.6 against each other for money. So i hope that one also lifts of in the next few months :)

Anyhow ill be online here a lot now, Reading the Manual/Tutorials and ask the sh*t out of you guys because i absorb knowledge like a Sponge !

    Hope we have fun ^^

Here is Where i Found You Guys !
