The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hi my name is Erich, username SEAC. I have been a developer of video games since 1982, when I worked for Synapse and Atari software. I very excited about Construct2, and I think there is great potential for the merging of old school games and the new social network market. <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi there !

I used to work for a company similar to Scirra, programming game engines. Eventually I moved on and currently my day job is writing Android native / Android Java applications.

Recently somebody was looking for an HTML5 coder and mentioned Construct2 as a possible engine. It only took 6 hours to implement a Duck Hunt clone which had me hooked :)

  • Hi all:

I recently discovered this great program by a friend of mine who has a small company that uses it, although I'm just using the free edition, I'm heavily thinking on buying the standard edition.

  • Hi guys!

Idea is great! I alredy buy pre-realise license. Use this for games and frendly site development.

  • Thats cool! Hi everyone!Good to meet so many constructers around here!

Im just starting with construct this very moment. The html5 support is just fantastic. Lets see whats next!

Ive already made a couple of small games and since the 23 december theres one released game on the list called Pitiri 1977. Maybe youve heard of it.

    all the best

  • Boy oh boy...

I just browsed through this thread and am really astonished what kind of skils are assembled here. I guess, if some of the HighClass graphic guys would team up with the "nerds" THAT would be an explosive mixture and I am sure, they would come up with an awesome game.

I am proud to be part of this community!

  • G'day All,

  • Hi everybody.

I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself to the community. I'm working on my BS in computer science currently. My goal is to start up a game studio and create indie games with a small team after university. I'm starting to use Construct 2 so that I can rapidly prototype my game ideas because I don't have enough time with school/work to fully code my ideas.

I'm very experienced with programming languages such as C++, java, C#, a little javascript, and also programming methodologies and design. I was working with XNA to make Windows games, but I don't have enough time to finish things so that is why I'm choosing Construct 2.

Hopefully I can help out the community once I get the hang of Construct 2.

  • Hello,

My name is Richard, I'm a resident of the US, and I've been interested in the process of making games since the Sega Genesis days, I was amazed at what the console could do back then, I have taken C#, Java, Flash and Graphic Design classes and I may register for 3Ds Max classes at my community college this semester. I am not an expert on any of these fields as I am, for lack of a better term, a jack of all trades master of none, for the reason is that I attempt all these different fields and see what sticks to me, but I am simply too interested in all these fields and personally feel that I do not have enough time in this world because I want to make lots of videogames.

Back in middle school me and some friends made some labyrinth puzzles on pen and paper and that was pretty fun, with some teleportation gates and monsters and all kinds of stuff like that. Then, helped out collaborate with a few drawings on a forum RPG that surprisingly saw the light of day, and there was another RPG we worked on that one didn't took off, I guess we were burned out on the previous one. I've been inspired on the 3D side of things mainly because of REZ and want to make a game very similar like that in the future as there are not enough games in this world for that amazing vision of synesthesia. But, the problem with that is I have no idea on how to make 3D games, another idea is making 2D games like metroidvania type games, those are excellent, and Construct 2 seems like the perfect tool for it. I would be lying if Pixel's Cave Story was not an incredible inspiration. I'm sure a lot of us feel that way.

I look forward to meeting new people, and collaborate on a project together. Let's take care of each other.

  • Welcome to the site everyone!

  • Hi my name is Lourens!

I live in South Africa and English is my second language (so don't judge my spelling mistakes :P)

I have an degree in Graphic Design and I'm a Professor at loving games :D I just wanted to say THANK YOU SCIRRA! You guys have made it possible for me to put together a simple game in a matter of minutes, without actually having any game making skills prior to that!

You guys have impressed me so much that I am considering buying this software, just because I want to support you guys and I want to have all the features to my disposal!

My dream one day is to make my own games and have my own gaming studio, and for the first time it's actually more of a reality than just a dream. So once again...Thank you very much!
