And if you know what that means, muahahahaaa

Anyhoo, here I am, seeing if this'll be a good fit for the game I'm making.

  • Hello there! I'm newbie here and construct2. :-)

  • Welcome Kevin,

I'm new to this forum too. There's a great community here, and the guys at Scirra are very quick at responding to posts too.

  • Hi there, I'm Ric,

an ex The Games Factory and click & create user. It's been a long time since I made my own games but my daughter wants to learn, so I thought I'd check this out. Very impressed so far! Will be trying the tutorials when I get chance to see if I can get something moving!

  • Hello all;

I am a student of Game Design, and am planing to use this engine for my final project this quarter. Looking forward to learning this new and innovative software to create new horizons, (and mainly to create an 'A' letter grade!).

  • Greetings Construct community!

I am a fairly new game hobbyist and a long time game enthusiast (my first video game was the Coleco Telstar Pong console :-/).

I have tried many of the other game making offerings out there, but I've found Construct/2 to have the cleanest interface and the simplest event manager. Export to HTML5 is also a big winner for me.

I'm looking forward to interacting with the community and learning as much as I can.

And I'd like to extend a big thanks to the Scirra team for all of the work they do!

  • Hello I have just recently purchased so I can make some games.

  • Hi,

I am sorry that I am cowardly enough to use a pseudonym.

I found out about Construct 2 in looking for multiplatform tools for development for mobile devices to make my first game or two. This would be my first attempt at making a game, other than using level editors for existing games. As far as I can tell, for me it is basically a choice between Construct 2 and Game Maker HTML5.

I bought the early adopter standard license here right away hoping to get a properly complex game going asap, in spite of the risk of investing in what very possibly may turn out to be a dead project. I did this in part because there was nothing else that looked as promising for noobs aside from Game Maker, yet Game Maker did not offer anything even close to a full free trial of the HTML5 edition. YoYo are not even providing a free or low cost trial and asking for 70 at best (with a coupon I received in an email).

I will probably talk more about what I am interested in after I learn the proper lingo so I won't offend experienced users here. I will be focusing on a real time action/puzzle game at first.

I hope the company grows and continues to offer a quality product with a full-featured introductory free or low cost license for people who have not made any money yet using it. It seems to me the most reasonable model for growth and maintenance of market share.

  • Welcome DarkBoge.

I invite you to check the tutorial about licenses.

But basicly (I suppose you bought the standard license) you're already running with a license that allows you to use construct2 and make a little profit out of it until you reached the amount of 5000$ (5000$ of profit made out of the game mades with C2).

If (when) you make more than 5000$ of profit, then you'll have to switch to a business license.

Also, it is my personal belief, but I don't see C2 anywhere near becoming a dead project. I believe it might even definetely become one of the (if not THE) major players in HTML5 game making.
