The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Howdy All,

I have been a web developer for more than 20 years and until recently I was the lead developer on the official Dungeon's & Dragon's website. I am now a freelance web UI developer. Many years ago I had my own play-by-mail game company and have been a play-tester and developer on many video, board, card, and role-playing games. I am looking forward to seeing what I can create with Construct 2 and contributing to the Construct 2 community.

  • Good timezone-appropriate-greeting all,

Long story short as possible: 31 years old today (Yay Birthday!) and have been trying for the past year+ to really push myself into getting in to a hobby I'd always wanted to pursue since childhood, and here I am. Part of the OneGameAMonth thing going on, and participating this June in Worldwide Game Dev Month.

After dabbling in your GameMakers and Stencyls and RPGMakers and Adventure Game Studios, Construct2 had the advantage of being the most sensible, least rubbish, and the most on-sale-for-$70-a-month-ago of all the others. I've made a few so far, visible from my profile page, a quick side scroller and a galaga-clone.

Looking forward to working for/with/adjacent-to all you charming folks. Tah!

  • Hi everyone,

While I have been into games since I had a ZX Spectrum (made a few really simple games in Basic), I haven't been particularly great at math, but thankfully Construct 2 is turned out to be quite good compared to similar software I tried before. Plus, it's nice to see such a welcoming a helpful community!

  • Hey everyone, I've been gaming since my first computer (Amiga 1200), and I've got a vivid imagination so I'm hoping the Construct 2 can help some of my ideas escape to the screen, my biggest drawback right now I feel will be getting the sprites I want made, because I know nothing about making sprites.

  • Hai!!! I am a young game developer and I work for LantixPro! Cool stuff! Check us out at: lantixpro.com or email me for more info at michaelgloobyzpq@gmail.com

  • Hi everyone,

I'm mrPeanut and i've just started using construct 2 weeks ago. Super awesome and simple step from java to Construct2, loving it! Because of the fast learning i've been able to help people on "the how do i..." forum already. Awesome community and i'm happy to be a part of it and help others along the way.

  • I haven't taken the time to officially introduce myself yet, so I suppose I will now.

My name is J.C. Wigriff. If my website's bio is to be believed (a dubious presumption), I am a level 72 writer, guitarist, columnist, gamer, and alchemist, versed in the art of vernacular assaults, acrimony, and with a weakness for Cadbury Creme Eggs. I also excel at run-on sentences. And starting sentences with conjunctions. And sarcasm.

I have been gaming since about 1987, when I got my first NES. I have been daydreaming and fantasizing about making games ever since. I never thought I had the ability though, to be honest. I wasn't terribly proficient at programming due to a severe allergy to anything related to mathematics (I tend to break out in hives and my airway swells shut), and while I was fairly decent at drawing and art related things I never felt I was "good enough" to make anything worth a damn.

Getting old changes things though, and you tend to stop caring what other people think. You start farting in public, you sometimes wear your pajamas to the grocery store, or in my case make games in your spare time that other people will inevitably see.

With Construct 2 being my engine of choice, you will probably end up being my guinea pigs. Lucky you. :)

  • I use construct 2 for the fist time....and by using it for developing a game....

  • Hello everyone,

I'm a 22 year old Belgian, and since I'm finishing my studies (which have nothing to do with game development) and I'd like to become somewhat involved in it, I downloaded Construct 2 and joined up here.

I've got a vivid imagination, a ton of experience when it comes to playing games (from COD to Little Inferno, sort of speak) and hopefully, I can get a couple of my ideas out of my head and into 1's and 0's.

If there's anything I can help you with, if you have any questions or if you'd like to tell me something (correct my mistakes probably is the correct phrase), feel free to shoot me a pm!
