• tulamide,

As always, it's my pleasure :)

Since joining the C2 community, many people have taken the time to help me out!

I'm not always able to help others with some of the more complex development questions, so I'm happy to help out where ever I can.

And your music is always very good, so it never really seems like work anyway!

I look forward to the next instalment :)

    Thanks!

My main workhorse is Reason 5, where I create most of the sounds from scratch with the various synths and samplers. I also use Reaper with a big collection of virtual instruments. The most important probably are Addictive Keys Studio Grand, which was part of a software collection that came with my masterkeyboard (btw. a really simple one, 49 full size keys, 4 endless knobs, 1 fader, pitch and modulation wheel), and the freeware instruments Crystal, Unifyer 3, Freehand Free and the DSK series. I also use Reaper for mastering, with free vst like BootEQ mk 2, Aradaz Maximizer, Ambience, epicVerb and W1 Limiter. But the most important tool to compose is ... your soul

    Thanks for reply !

What a big software collection you have :)

Please continue to release sound like these...

    Your music is great!!!!!!!!!!!

    p.s.

I've loaded your music on my ipod, so I can listen it when I go to run!!!

  • You asked for it...

    21 August 2013, Revision 5

12 new music loops again! (Why didn't I make it a ten?) Something's different this time. I made it to an event, kind of a ludum dare for music with me playing the role of several musicians. The theme was "heist movies", and I covered a lot of the typical ingredients of such a movie. The preparation, execution, looting and escaping, the relationships, even end credits. All the loops are in different styles, like different composers working on individual parts of the movie. My top favorite definitely is "heist". This loop just nails all the atmosphere (reminds me on the 2001 Ocean's Eleven)

I hope you all will enjoy it!

You can hear a demo of all new loops here

First post also updated. You find the download link in the first post, as always.

Thank you all so much for liking the loops! It's a great motivation. See, I can't stand silence, while I'm totally fine with negative critics, and certainly postive ones.

    Blacksmith

It would be great if you'd be willing to review again! Just don't get bewildered. Do as you always did, without my explanations in mind!

Oh, and I tried hard to make really bad loops. I might have failed though.

    -Silver-

Once more there's some music. Hopefully you'll like it!

    parside

Thank you very much! I try to keep this series alive.

To all others: If you should have suggestions regarding style, genre or anything else, just reply. I'll try to take it into account!

  • Hey tulamide,

Another set of 12 loops, when do you ever find the time to sleep?

As always, a great selection of music, so I'll just start at the top and work my way down!

thief_2b & thief_4b, I love the classic feel of these pieces (big orchestra sound). Both pieces would be very good for the introduction/theme of a powerful character, in a variety of games. Although I must say they made me think of sword fighting/fantasy styled RPG's.

trenchcoat_4b, whilst this shares some of the features of the thief tracks (e.g. strong definitive sound), trenchcoat has a much more retro seventies feel to it, and I really like the video game sounds woven into it!

preparations_(full)_8b & preparations_(piano)_8b, searching, passionate, driven, despair, these are all words that come to mind when listening to preparations. I can imagine a character driven to wander the dirty city streets, on a search to save the ones they love. I think the piano version will be making it onto my favourites list

loot_2b, a very cool and funky sound. It conjures up images of a fresh young dude, strutting down the road on his way to catch the bad guys.

realisation_4b & realisation_16b, both tracks have a very dark and gritty sound. Great tension builders, and they remind me of a futuristic sound from a seventies film, very cool!

homewrecker_8b, despite it's title, this track had a very hopeful sound. It made me think of someone who has hit rock bottom, and is just starting to make the climb back up to the top.

heist_4b, I can see why you like this track, it has a very upbeat, positive and funky sound to it, great for a lead character!

endcredits_8b, another hopeful sounding piece, makes me believe that everything all works out in the end!

getaway_4b, fantastic tension builder, has a similar feel to the thief tracks but a different, much BIGGER sound!

Anyway, I hope that my comments have been useful. Good luck in the competition, I'm sure you'll do well. Keep us posted

Oh and by the way, you failed in your attempt to create something bad, you MUST try harder

  • More music, wow. I'll attempt to describe the music like Blacksmith.

Thief 2b/4b reminds me of snes rpg music when characters are preparing to go into action or coming up with a plan.

Trenchcoat has this old style nes electronic vibe. Maybe some type of nes action game.

Preparations has this pc rpg vibe I don't why but part of it reminds me of the original Deus Ex. I really like the piano version of this.

Loot feels like it belongs in some sort of platormer or rpg type game. Maybe a character going through some sort of obstacle or factory.

Realisation like Preparations, brings this Deus Ex Sci Fi vibe going on. Like Blacksmith said there is great tension in this song.

Homewrecker has this discovery atmosphere to the song. Its somewhat difficult for me to describe it.

Heist sounds like its from a 70's movie it has that 70's funk and mood.

end credits brings memories of sega megadrive/ genesis platformer games of the late 90's. It has the discovery and feeling of ambiguity and completion to it.

getaway is like an action packed movie very dramatic and serious.

    Good job Tulamide.

  • Minor question: do you take requests?

  • Minor question: do you take requests?tuk@ryackov

Of course. In fact I already asked for it a few times in the thread.

This library is intended to be a useful source. If a suggestion isn't beyond my talent or my equipment's possibilities, I'll implement it.

  • tulamide Wow man, these are some excellent tunes, may end up using some! It's very generous of you for making these and giving them out under CC 3.0 license :) Thank you very much!

  • Jase00 Thank you! And you're welcome. It feels good, if people appreciate it

  • Thank you tulamide for your talent & for sharing it with us! Keep up the great work.

  • Great Job!!!! :D

  • Thank you divaweb , honestly. And I just started working on r6 two days ago [<:o)]

parside you should pm me with the current status

  • Two requests:

Music for my stock market game. Maybe there could music for when the economy is doing well, and for when the economy is doing poorly.

Music for a future game as a bureaucrat assassinating political enemies. Maybe banal music for an office.

  • ryackov

I thought of more general requests, as this is a free library for all. But I'll see if I can add loops that match your requests.
