Notes

It's a new stable release of Construct! If you're updating from the last stable release r476.4 then this update includes changes from r477, r477, r478, r478.2, r479, r479.2, r480, r480.2, r481, r482, r483, r484, r486 and r486.2. Highlights include:

⭐ A new 3D editor view! Use the new gizmo to move objects in 3D. The grid also supports the Z axis now.

⭐ Loads of updates for 3D model, including toggling meshes in the editor, drag-and-drop support, default transforms, and options for importing, looping and origin

⭐ Open additional Event Sheet Views for the same event sheet. Also: a new Ctrl+Left/Right shortcut to indent/deindent event blocks.

⭐ Support for 3D movement with the Bullet behavior

⭐ A new pixel snapping option for the Layout View

⭐ Loads of new Construct Game Services features including new authentication options, broadcasts, and XP

⭐ Export to a single EXE file for Windows. Also: updated executable version information, and tidier exports when bundling assets

⭐ Loads more, including resizable meshes, WebGPU support updates, and mobile export updates

⭐ New demo game 'Breach' and 4 other new examples

Please note that in order to better support new 3D features, the legacy Z axis scale mode Normalized is now deprecated. In future only Regular mode will be supported. Many existing projects will automatically update, and you can use a new option in the Properties Bar to help convert other existing projects, although you may need to make further changes to the project. For more information see the section on Z axis scale in the manual entry on deprecated features.

We'll be starting a new beta release cycle soon. If you'd like to help test it when it's out, try the beta release opt-in: choose Notify me about updates for beta releases in Settings. Stay tuned for more updates!

  • This is a really big and awesome stable update. Finally, I can go back to the stable version. Because of all your cool features, I had to stick with the beta versions!

  • Very nice! Thank you for the updates! Is nice seeing the 3D functionality pushing forward so rapidly.

As the 3D editor is in place, were meshes about to be rotated/scaled in the X,Y,Z axis. (currently I rotate and scale meshes by moving each point one by one but this is cpu heavy). Is cool if not, I just don't know if meshes in the engine are based off a "flat" plane and cant actually be scaled/rotated on all axis or not. (Otherwise I will just keep committing to moving the individual points)

I look forward to what the future brings for c3!

  • Amazing work! Any more plans to make blog posts about 3D in depth? Love reading about the considerations, scope and hurdles of it.

  • Thank you!

  • This is nice. I've been following the beta version for a while now and its wonderful to see the that 3d editor is now a stable version.

  • I'm glad I stuck with Construct through all of the Gamemakers/Superpowers/Godots. Thank you Ashley.

  • This build broke my game. It shows me the message "fail to open the project" (even though it open it), but then the game doesn't work as intended.

  • Please consider adding an option to show and hide that small 2D/3D window in the center. I won't be using 3D for now. Thanks for the update!

  • My 2D game project is broken because of the new version. When I open it with the old version, it says I need to continue with the new version because it's supposed to open with that new version. When I export the Android version, it's starting to leave white spaces in the corners of the screen. I wasn't getting these errors in the previous version. Moreover, the game speed and quality seem to have decreased. I don't know how to get out of this situation now.

  • I'm seeing huge frame rate drops with all of my projects, which will force me to stay on r476.4.
